It's an absurd idea. For one, there's really no such thing as the mad scientist working alone in his lab. The sort of research needed for this sort of thing takes huge amounts of money, large staffs, and thousands of patients. Do you really think it's credible that that many people could keep a secret of that importance, even if they all wanted to? You'll see your occasional conspiracy theorist spout this sort of junk, but if they aren't dangerous, they can't be forced into treatment, so you just need to keep your BS meter running.

I dont believe the cure for aids has been discovered bc just think, the person who discovered the cure wouldnt be able to hold it in...that means they would be forever rich for such a discovery. Thats just like saying u purchased a billion dollar lottery ticket, won, and want to keep the ticket instead of turning it in!...Uh...impossible. They would spill like a pot of overflown beans. As 4 cancer, the same principle applies, there are more people with cancers than aids so they would benefit even more for that cure!

No, you MUST be crazy to believe someone found the cure, but isn't releasing it.. etc.. thats whacko.
Fact is, some of the biggest money on the planet is held by Biotechnology/PHarmacuetical corporations, who spend BILLIONS on research and development yearly, they are all tryin to find the cures for diseases like these.. and AS SOON AS THEY DO, you can bet that they will apply for a drug patent and FDA approval as fast as possible.. why? because it means HUGE money for them.
Imagine how much a drug that could cure lung cancer of leukemia would be worth? or how much an AIDs vaccine would make in a year? BILLIONS of dollars in profit.
SO you can bet that they'd want to get a drug like that out onto the market as fast as possible

The cure for both is death. Now if we could just cure death? I personally believe we are alive for a measured amount of time and that on average we could live to 80 years. Knowing this I might try to avoid things that statistically cause AIDS or some forms of CANCER...But really...Science has added years to our lives, It is now up to us to add "Life" to those years..And really isn't plastic breast and facelifts the cure to something? and how awfull that is turning out to be...Live Laugh Love and don't be too surprised by the finality of the end of this existence...And lastly..I pray for a cure to suffering in any form.

NO, BECAUSE WE DON'T FULLY UNDERSTAND THESE ILLNESSES AND THE MECHANISMS WICH GENERATE THEM (CANCER) OR THE CELLULAR RESPONSE MECHANISMS (VIRUSES, CANCER). THERE ARE TREATMENTS FOR THEM, AND AS FOR CANCER THER IS A RECESSION OF THE DISEASE, BUT NOT A DEFINITE CURE. IT DEPENDS ON PERSPECTIVE AS TO CALL THEM CURES.

Great question!
I don't think its a conspiracy per se, but I do think that drug companies may not go down routes that spell a "non-drug" answer because it isn't profitable for them.
