I really like a living room set they have, but it is not worth 1k. It has 2 cigarette holes that I think I can repair.. but I just really don't want to pay 1k for it (in cash, no "renting to own").

As a matter of fact, just tell the sales person that you have $500 burning a hole in your pocket. They'll start putting together a deal.

Heck yea. EVERYTHING is negotiable. If they want to sale bad enough they will take your offer. Figure out what you are willing to pay and offer that. If they don't accept walk away and give them a number to reach you at if they should change their mind.

Before I dropped $1000 on a used set that is damaged, I'd watch Craigslist for awhile.
