It is quite a different thing to be "true" than it is to be "without error." I can tell you a rough tale about Goldilocks - or one about Indra or hercules for that matter - that is completely fictional, nothing but factual errors. that has nothing to do with whether it is true. Goldilocks will teach you not to take advantage of others, to use your manners, etc. That's true stuff. The Bible is true. Much of it actually happened. Some if it happened the way it says. But when my life is informed by the Bible, the church community, the tradition, reason, and my own life experience I find that they are all confirmed for me. Which doesn't help you, but for me the truth is proven ineffible and undeniable.

I already question the accuracy of the Bible, as when I study the unique languages, the English variations in many circumstances do not seize the authentic message behind the passage in question. It stands to reason that human beings will insert their own doctrines in translation and that blunders will be made. there is also the project of Holy texts that were got here upon because the canonization of the Bible, which maximum Abrahamic religions refuse to study, and, each from time to time, even renowned. An celebration of it is the Nag Hammadi Library, which incorporates the Gospels of Mary and Thomas and far extra. As to the the Bible being Divinely inspired, i believe this is, besides the undeniable fact that it is not the in worry-free words Holy e book it is. expertise might want to be latest in a lot of places. finally, to respond to your question totally: a number of those Holy Books might want to be taken in context of the time of the writings. for instance, even as Paul says in his epistle that a woman might want to be silent in church, he's telling the girls to adhere to Jewish temple regulation, and it received't be taken as an excuse for misogamism, or a refusal to enable females to evangelise. besides the undeniable fact that, some Christian denominations and Muslims take this to be doctrine continually, instead of viewing it as a letter preserved by utilizing God for historic motives. i'm no longer certain if i have chuffed you totally with this answer. If no longer, please say so interior the information section, and tell me what else you favor to question me.

Of course not. The Bible obviously cannot prove itself, because that's just nonsense. Parts of the Bible that have historical evidence are 'proved' to a certain extent, but the truth of the complete tome is thrown out of the window due to inconsistency; for instance stoic Christians will tend to believe the Bible over established historical events, negating its validity.

Quran 5:46-47
5:46 And We caused Jesus, the son of Mary, to follow in the footsteps of those [earlier prophets], confirming the truth of whatever there still remained of the Torah; and We vouchsafed unto him the Gospel, wherein there was guidance and light, confirming the truth of whatever there still remained of the Torah, and as a guidance and admonition unto the God-conscious.
5:47 Let, then, the followers of the Gospel judge in accordance with what God has revealed therein: for they who do not judge in the light of what God has bestowed from on high-it is they, they who are truly iniquitous!
For the followers of the Quran, Allah directs us to declare the truth in what is left of the Torah and the Evangels (New Testament). This proclaimation was made in the early to mid 600AD. The Torah and Evangels essentially exist today as they did then.
There exist an understanding that allows the Torah, Gospel & Quran to exist in harmony. Look for it.
There is no proof of anything if one does not wish to see it. We all (at one time or another) justify our religious positions by rejecting the reglious positions of others (much to the delight of the shaytan).
Blessings and peace to all,
All in all,
B

The Bible's accuracy and reliability have been proved and verified over and over again by archaeological finds produced by both believing and no believing scholars and scientists. This included verification for numerous customs, places, names, and events mentioned in the Bible.
One among many examples is the fact that for many years the existence of the Hittites (a powerful people who lived during the time of Abraham) was questioned because no archaeological digs had uncovered anything about them. Critics claimed the Hittites were pure myth. But today the critics are silenced. Abundant archaeological evidence for the existence of the Hittites during the time of Abraham has been uncovered.
Bible scholar Donald J. Wiseman notes, "The geography of Bible lands and visible remains of antiquity were gradually recorded until today more than 23,000 sites within this region and dating to Old Testament times, in their broadest sense, have been located." Nelson Glueck, a specialist in ancient literature, did an exhaustive study and concluded: "It can be stated categorically that no archaeological discovery has ever controverter a biblical reference." Well-known scholar William F. Albright, following a comprehensive studies, wrote: "Discovery after discovery has established the accuracy of innumerable details, and has brought increased recognition of the value of the Bible as a source of History."
There are more than 24,000 partial and complete manuscript copies of the New Testament. These manuscript copies are very ancient and they are available for inspection NOW. there are also some 86,000 quotations from the early church fathers and several thousand lectionaries (church-service books containing Scripture quotations used in the early centuries of Christianity). In fact, there are enough quotations from the early church fathers that even if we did not have a single copy of the Bible, scholars could still reconstruct all but 11 verses of the entire New Testament from material written within 150 to 200 years from the time of Christ. Bottom line: The New Testament has an overwhelming amount of evidence supporting its reliability.
