Why can't you grow balls?
Son, you were born with a perfectly good set.
Use them - tell him to straighten up or move out without making it personal. Just tell him you are embarrassed to bring lady friends over with his constant mess.
If he can't understand this then he really isn't your friend and you might as well throw his stuff on the lawn or off the balcony.
Remember this one fact: you might feel like you are too nice to tell him but by not telling him you are being far less than nice to yourself. You are also enabling your roomate to screw you over, which creates even more un-niceness for you.
You are not his mommy. Just tell him the truth, do it tonight.
Try not to make it a personal thing.
Tell him honestly how his behavior is bothering you.
DO NOT sugar coat it. This talk is for you, but also for his own good.
Sounds like he is well on his way to being a career bachelor!

You can't legally force him out if he is on the lease or not on the lease and has been there for more than 7 days. Call Kim and Aggie and have them give him a good talking to about his disgusting habit. LOL. Seriously, you need to sit him down and talk about it. Tell him if he does not want to clean then he has to pay for the maid service weekly or find alternate living arrangements. Get it all in writing with both of your signatures so he does not come back to get you. Make sure that all dates (when the document was written in addition to when everything is to be completed along with pictures taken on those dates) are written on there and the entire agreement between the two of you. You keep the original and make him a copy. Take yours some where safe so it doesn't disappear.

Why don't you grow the balls to do it? Probably because you hate confrontation. You probably have this issue with everything. My guess is people often take advantage of you. Then again, you might not want to be alone. He is a slot but being alone might be worse. Are you both on the lease? Are you renting to him? If you can't kick him out, maybe you should leave and either get a new clean roommate, a girl, or a cat.
Good luck

Two suggestions...you can tell him that you are starting a weekly cleaning day and he needs to do x, x, x, x, and x because the house is 50/50 after all. Or, you can sit down with him and say look dude, you are out of control. I can't live this way and if you don't start taking responsibility, I will have to look for another roomy.

Move into another apartment. I don't think you have another choice. Contact the landlord, and let him know you want to move into a vacant apartment as soon as possible. Most landlords will not force someone to move, because they lose money if they do that. I am assuming that you are renting an apartment. Otherwise, you could simply call the police and have the guy arrested for trespassing in your home.

Send him this question. Use it as the basis for a discussion about what both of your expectations are.
Surely you would not ask him to move out if he starts meeting your expectations and cleans up his act, right? So all you have to do is say, "You have two choices." If he chooses not to meet common levels of decent behavior and cleanliness, then he chooses to look for another place and move out.
Put it all on him, so that he can see the consequences of his choices.

Sounds like it isn't working out.
Consider moving yourself. The benefits would be
he has no choice
you won't have to clean when hes gone
you won't have to confront him and physically move him out.
you get to start up in a new place, always fun and exciting

Get your landlord to do it for you. Or if he's paying you, you have every right to kick him out with due notice, or at least give him a stern warning.
In any case, just be happy it's not worse, I lived with a convict (subletter) and his homeless squatter friend (who he met in prison) once. I would've kicked him out, but he was about 200 lbs heavier than me and I didn't have a gun.

The best thing to do is move yourself...if you can't do it alone, find someone else to live with. But, if this same thing happens with the new room mat, then the problem is not
your roomate, but you.....
Theres nothing wrong with someone walking around in his underwear, and farting, if he's in his own house.
