I have a bland LR that I want to spruce up.

I plan to paint the walls Andiron (from Sherwin Williams - its a deep greenish -gray color). I have a dark brown (think espresso) TV armoire and bookshelf in the Living Room. Not much else in the way of decoration. I'm just getting started.

What color curtains should I choose?

OH - My furniture is BLACK! But I actually plan to get rid of the black furniture soon (or maybe just get some beige or taupe slip covers).

Please help!

I love the andiron green. Taupe would be great for a chair and sofa...it would help to lighten the room a little. The site below shows draperies in a color that would be complimentary to your scheme. I would repeat this color in throw pillows and maybe in some artwork.

Here are some examples of how to use a splash of your accent color in artwork:

Personally - with all the dark stuff in the room I would go with a beige, cream or some neutral tone for curtains. That would lighten up the room some. When I got married my husband had paneling in the great room with dark brown curtains. I got cream colored lace curtains and it really brightened up the room. It let in more light. I guess it would depend on what kind of mood you want for the room as to what color curtains you got.

Ok, we start with black, espresso, and gray-green. Gotta add some color!
Curtains - suggest a bright orange, sun yellow, or turquoise; can be a print with the black, brown or green in it.
Add throw pillows in the curtain color.
Go with warm beige for slipcovers.
Pick a frame color for all art in similar color and material - oak or walnut, brass or chrome, or colored enamel.
Add accessories in the curtain/pillow colors, the frame colors, and maybe a bit of espresso.
Don't forget a plant, flowers, or floral wreath!

looks like you need some light colors. Add some creams and or tans. Some light soothing colors will make a good contrast.

Do not put dark colour in ur house otherwise ur house will look dark. Put cream or light blue for curtains and light yellow for the walls

I'd give a zing of colour somewhere; vivid lime green perhaps, or orange.
