the continuing use of mobile phones when driving,is particularly bad in the north west of the UK, blatant use by transport drivers is normal, we see many times vehicles making turns with the drivers using mobile phone, whilst making the turn, I really thought this was now iilegal to use these when driving has the law changed or too lax in enforcement these users are dangerous the high volume of traffic on the roads does not allow for such stupidity

Probably when they have traffic officers instead of just speed cameras

You will only see real enforcement of this law, and all other traffic laws when the government increases the number of uniformed traffic police officers. In the last three years, there has been a reduction of almost 20% in the number of police traffic officers, at a time of ever rising numbers of vehicles on the road.

You will never get these laws enforced when there are those stupid idiots keep bleating on about speed cameras saving lives when really they are just lining pockets of various companies. We all with common sense know you need police out there catching the bad drivers and not the old dear doing 33mph in a 30.
Speeding was never as bad when the police used to do spot checks on various roads, you just never knew if they were there round the next corner, because you never knew where they were

Hey Tinker...for ur sake, I hope the UK govt. enforce the law against using cell phones while driving.
But in the US is a normal thing...and the law wil affect so many people including myself. However, talking on the phone while driving is against new drivers in Maryland USA.
so I hope it got enforce in UK and not USA.

never have you ever noticed police are there when you dont what them to be and not there when you need them, my friend skidded on black ice and i saw him waiting on the median he said he was waiting for 30 min. i was there for about 45 min then a police came and said "oh well hurry up change the tire and get the car out of here a lot of people will call 911 to say theres a car" the *** didnt even block the traffic so we could move the car of the soaking wet grass to change the tire we had to go get some bricks dig a hole put them in the ground then change the tire

i agree. i see it all the time, even on roundabouts. would you believe that i've noticed its mainly bmw and jag drivers who are the absolute worst (do they think they're above the law?!). also, i've seen bus drivers doing it.

it disgusts me and i worry about the amount of innocent people yet to be killed by such behaviour from the morons who persist in thinking they are somehow exempt from the laws.

they only get caught if a copper sees em or a camera catches them. so the chances r slim.

even after an accident its hard to prove unless they check phone calls made etc..but then its only circumstantial evidence.

so unfortuantely, its goes along with eating, drinking and doing anything else at the wheel.

soon they will ban steroes in cars, sat nav, tv's, talking, picking ya nose, scratching, etc.. etc...

Real enforcement starts the day we are allowed to shoot "traffic yakkers" between the eyes.
