Copyright people mainly target or concentrate on big companies, business ,corporation(like kazaa, limewire, big torrent site) or individual (who share and upload files ) (like that lady sued and fined $200,000).
They don't concentrate much on individual who are downloading (doesn't means they are not targeted. Some may get warning, other get out-of-court settlement ...but at present, very few people are targeted in this category)
getting proof, lawsuit etc is lengthy and costly process, therefore individual downloading are not their priority.

Imagine a million suits?
This has been sending out a message to the recording companies for some time now, primarily that the number one complaint is that you need to buy many cd's to listen to the songs you like, and these do not happen to be all on the same one. Of course people will jump at the chance to burn their own customized stuff to listen to.

The cost of going after all such people would be prohibitive. So the enforcement bodies have to be selective and go after the most heinous of offenders, and make enough noise to cause people to think about what they are doing, and hopefully ( for them ) to stop as a result....

Simply because there are 'millions' of people using it, and the police have better things to do than arrest and charge a million people.

It would probably be impossible to prosecute everyone doing it, so they prosecute a few to show people that they can get caught for downloading music illegally.

My answer to you is in case your scared then, end utilising this gadget. it incredibly is against the regulation to receive music and movies without paying. i've got in no way heard of all of us getting arrested for it yet yet there would desire to continually be a commonly happening.

I have LimeWire Pro and I had to pay $34.99 for a lifetime membership. Its not free as some people may tell you. You are paying for a service.
My advice, if its free, then beware. If you pay for the service, save your credit card statements to prove you paid for the service.

Funny you should say that. A woman in the USA was fined a substantial amount yesterday for sharing music files. She fought it in court but lost and has one big fine to pay. Something like $200,000
P2P is not safe.
