Yeah, i know it's a crazy question. I need something moldy for my microbiology class by next tuesday, but i don't have any moldy food.

I put a slice of bread and a sliced pear out on my counter, but i don't know if they will get moldy but next tuesday.

any ideas anyone? I need something with some serious fuzzy moldly growth on it, but please, nothing stinky like old spagetti or a stinky 2 week old dinner left over. more like a fruit or bread or something.

Put the bread or a piece of cheese in a moist ziplock bag on the counter. It'll mold pretty quickly there!

Add moisture to the container that the food is in. I wouldn't leave the them out on the counter. I'd stick it into a plastic left over container get the container wet on the inside and close it up.
Or if you are like my mother and keep chocolate for a really long time just get an old chocolate bar open it and if there is white stuff on it you got MOLD!

Take that bread that you have started on all ready and put it in a plastic sandwich bag in roll it up where it can get a little air and put it under the sink right now and by tuesday you will have your mold

keep whatever it is out of the fridge and make sure it stays warm! dairy products are best! aka, cream cakes. good luck with your class. ps, the pear will turn black in a couple days and the bread will have blue spores on it by tuesday

Put it in a warm humid place as all mould is is peniciullin and all bacteria needs warm wet conditions lots of lurff and hugss beth xxxx

You could put them in a plastic bag, spray a fine mist of water over them, not a lot just a fine mist. Then set them in a warm dark place.

Place it in a humid, warm environment - preferably something small, like yeast water - in a small flat container, like a saucer, or pretri dich. You should see results withing 24 hrs.

Buy it at QFCKroger/Saveway/Albertsons. it already has a big head start cause they freeze all that stuff and then ship it thousands of miles and still call it fresh

Put it out side in a closet or closed container.The heat will speed it up for you.You are experimenting or really bored.
