I cant read your genetics, since I dont know your family's genetic history, nor what genes will be passed by any particular egg and sperm.

Short people have tall kids and short, it just depends.

It's more likely genetically, though it also depends on genes you carry from other family members. Are all members of both sides of the family short, or are you 2 the shortest siblings in otherwise tall families?
There are also environmental factors (the old nature vs. nurture argument) that may come into play. Optimum nutrition for growth is the first one of those to come to mind, both the mom's while pregnant and the child's growing up. Of course, things like mom's smoking and drug use during pregnancy or child doing it as adolescent could lead to stunted growth.
You better hope that they are short (and small) when you are going through labor!
If you and your mate are confident with yourselves, you will be able to pass this self-esteem onto your children and help them be well-adjusted happy people, and give them inner qualities that will matter way more than their physical height or lack therof! My ex husband was 6'3" and a jerk. I am now married to husband who is 5'9" but a giant in my eyes.

Yes. You are short and for a male that is really short. Unless one of you have tall family members and could possibly pass that gene on to your child. Keep in mind though, children usually end up growing taller than their parent of the same sex.

I'm 5'2 and my husband is 5'6... our daughter (who's 2 years old and is almost 40 inches tall) is off the charts for heigth - people think she's 3 or 4.... it all depends on your genes. If tallness is a gene factor somewhere down the line in yours or your husband's family (such as you or he have a tall mother, father, grandfather, grandmother, brother sister, ect), then your child may inherit that recessive gene. It's the same way with hair color - the only other blonde in my entire family as far back as you look for 80 years is my mom's sister - and I have VERY blonde hair - everyone elses' (including my parents and grandparents) is dark brown or black. It's wierd, but that's how it works. Even though my husband and I are short, my dad is 6'4 and my daughter inherrited a tall gene - even though it was a recessive trait in me and I'm short, it's a dominant gene trait in her and she's tall.

Probably. But if you both have some tall people in your families then there is a chance your child might not be short.

Kids will probably be in between. But it depends on your family's. My hubby has very short parents, both are under 5'7", however he is 6'. But on both sides of his family there are tall people. Just never know.

More them likely yes you will. Short people normally have short children. It does not matter that they will be short. Its whats on the inside that counts and I am sure your children will be lovely people.

it's likely that they'll be short, but also look at relatives on both sides of your family. also, every once in a while a really tall person can be born to really short parents. you'll just have to wait and see.

Possibly...what about other members of your family and his family? Genetics include every member of your family. For example all three of my sons look like my husband. My younger daughter looks like me - though she has the long arms and legs that my brother had as a baby - and my older daughter looks like my cousin Lacey. My nephews look a lot like their dad, except Nicolai who looks more like my husband's great uncle.

As for height everyone in my husband's family is tall, my husband is the shortest at 6'3". The shortest of the girls in his family is his mom at 5'5". In my family all the guys are tall and all the girls are short. Now all my boys are the average height for their age, my older girl is average height for her age and my younger girl is tall for her age.
