I've known many guys who cheat and treat women like garbage and it seems the worse they treat women the more these women want them. Why? I've read many online profiles that said she is looking for someone that is funny and thoughtful and kind, but goes on to say don't bother replying if you're not '6"2 and have perfect abs. Is the whole wanting someone who is nice and respectful a way of taking up space in the profile, or a way to make yourself seem innocent? I don't have a chip on my shoulder and I'm not bitter I'm just tired of the hypocrisy.

Let me break it down for you. Women like to feel like they can fix things, hence the reason for being in an abusive relationship for so long, dating a chump, etc. So when they see a guy who seems 'broken' or unable to be 'tamed' by all other women before them, then who do you think they're going to go for? The one that needs fixing.
It's part of the whole bad boy deal, we like to think that we'll be the one special lady that will "change his life forever" and then he'll treat us like a goddess and turn out being an awesome father and all that. So if you really are as nice as you say, don't worry about it. It's just one of many biological obstacles that a woman has to overcome. Plus, it's best that you really get to know a woman first to know where she stands if you're interested, because then you'll know what they truly value in a man, like honesty, sense of humor, blah, blah, blah.
I don't know if this will make you feel any better, but at least you'll know one big *** reason why some women seem seem to be putting up an innocent front. They don't realize it until it's too late.

Some men do the same thing. Say they want good, faithful, loving women, and yet the ones they fall for end up cheating, being addicts, theives or worse, all three. And not all women are like this. However, I believe that people who don't have self-confidence and pride, tend to be attracted to people who simply "NEED" them, and actually shy away from people who are self-reliant and healthy. I don't think it has a lot to do with gender so much. It happens on both sides of the fence.

Three things could be going on here:
1. These women have issues with rejection dating back to their childhood. They work these out by trying to "win" the love of someone who is rejecting them. This creates a pattern of attraction to "bad boys."
2. The women like these men for other qualities. In other words, they like them *despite* the fact that they are jerks, not because of it. A guy can be a jerk but also be funny, creative and passionate.
3. They simply have bad taste. Look at who Pam Anderson dates/marries.

How can a general statement be made about either sex? There are smart men and smart women, and there are probably alot more dumb men and women. Now love can really bring a person to do foolish things or fail to see the simple truth right infront of them. I have known couples where the woman seems to rule the relationship, but I wouldn't say that makes them smarter. I have seen men play women left and right, but still not smarter. None of them seem to really know what they want in life. None of them sustain happiness in their relationships... It is rare these days to see a young coulple co-existing in equality, living happy and fullfilling lives together. To me, this scenario is the smartest, and both partners are responsible.

Ooooh those women....... Hay I gotta tell you, those girls are being set up into a trap. It's called the future abused. They feel inadiqute and desperatly feel the need to prove themselves. It's stupid, I know but that's the way it goes. Women by natural intinct seek the strongest male (type thing) eg an alpha male, leader, king, etc. etc. it's basic intinct that attracts a woman, then coe the problems. I've learned there is a huge difference between and alpha male an a dominant one.

I've told my husband that this is a marriage, not a ball game, so it's one "strike" your out and not 3. So I'm not sure why women stay with cheaters unless they're so insecure they don't think they deserve better. As far as looking for a guy who's 6'2" w/ perfect abs and looking for a funny, kind guy, I don't see a problem with that. One is a personality trait and one a physical trait. Can't you have both or are you saying all hots guys are jerks and all nice guys are short and flabby?

The women who accept being treated like garbage is a small subset of all women.
Most women do not.
Most women prefer funny and thoughtful men.
Maybe the reason women reject you is that you aren't as funny and thoughtful as you think you are.
Either that or you're only attracted to women who like to be treated like garbage. Why is that?

Women who continually choose bad relationship partners are just stuck in a pattern they can't get out of. Someone who wants this and that and then ends with if your unattractive or fat don't bother, is shallow and pretty much deserves what they are getting.

Why do you think that is that hypocritical? Can't a 6'2" good looking guy with perfect abs be nice and respectful too? I don't think that's too much to ask for. Girls want a guy who is nice but he also has to be attractive (at least in her eyes). Sorry but that's reality! You wouldn't want to date someone you thought was ugly would you, even if she was nice?
