You can probably live anywhere. Long Island University is close to almost every subway line in the city, since it's within walking distance to Atlantic Terminal.

If I were you, I'd probably try and live as close to school as you can afford. The farther away you live from school, the more likely you are to skip classes and eventually that'll lead to dropping out (or getting kicked out).

Brooklyn. The neighborhood around the campus isn't too expensive and LIU is not terribly convenient from Queens.

long island city has a great form of blah aesthetics. some aspects i might even classify as eyesores. even though it has a becoming artwork scene. in case you reside close to the 7 practice it must be noisy. brooklyn on the different hand has extra appropriate eating places palms down, yet brooklyn is in many cases extra crowded and extra intense priced.
