You can get caught by downloading anything using anything. The reason is simple: you never know if someone is watching what you're downloading. Remember, a PUBLIC network like Limewire or whatever is easy to monitor: any one can do it, even you and me.

If you take the files OFF Limewire, i.e. stop "sharing" them, the chances of being caught significantly decrease, since you're no longer "on", and only someone who have proof of your earlier activities will know to come after you.

If you move the files after you download them you are reducing the risk of getting busted for "sharing" files, but there is still evidence that you downloaded the files from your ISP or internet provider.

Yes it is possible. But because so many people use it can be quite rare to get caught. I wouldn't advise using obvious softwares such as Limewire - My tip is to not download copyrighted material.

thanks for asking.....YES and here is proof...hot off the News Press:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071005/ap_on_hi_te/downloading_music

this young lady has been fined $9,250 for each illegally downloaded song --for a total fine of $222,000.

So, as of this morning the Music industry is setting an example and they have noted that she IS NOT the last one they are coming after....so be careful!

good luck :)

You should download Peer Guardian 2. It blocks your IP address when downloading

Your web transactions are always logged by your ISP, so you can get caught doing anything.

Youre going to jail! they just fined a lady $220,000 ( i think) for dowloading music. you're most likely next. really, dont worry about it,if the govt cant keep thousands of people crossing our boarders, they cant stop you from downloading music.
