So now the JW's are reduced to outright falsehoods in trying to defend the NWT?
Achtung Heiss says, they have neither "added or taken away" in the NWT.
Really?
I could list over a hundred verses in which they have added or omited words that are in the greek mss.
Words are added in english to CLAIRIFY meaning, never to CHANGE meaning. This is what the Watchtower has done in its "translation".
If Achtung Heiss really believes that all of the verses he lists that contain the word "god" bolsters his argument, he really needs a lesson in hermanutics. By making Jesus "a" god, makes witnesses polytheists.
Besides, Jesus said we are to be HIS witnesses, not "Jehovahs Witnesses". As everyone knows, "Jehovah" is not even a real word.
If God wanted to be called by that name He would have been called by that name in every N.T. manuscript.
The fact is; the word "Jehovah" does not, nor EVER has appeared in ANY N.T. manuscript. The NWT has it added into its "translation".
Another thing, Jesus said we (believers) are to address God as our FATHER. Not as Jehovah.
So right out of the gate, they choose to disobey the Lord EVERY time they address Him in prayer.
By the way, I bet none of the folks reading and/or answering this question has EVER known a JW who could read Koine Greek. There is a reason for that. Every time a JW bothers to actually LEARN the language, they leave the Watchtower.
In the last 30 some years I have challenged scores of them to learn it, and even suggested how they could do it quickly and inexpensively. I have only had four take me up on it.
All four left the W.T. within 2 years of learning it.
I wish more would do the same.

For the same reason that the King James version has added and taken away from the Bible. What you don't realize is that the original manuscripts for the Bible are written in archaic languages, that are not always as precise as today's English. To top it off, none of the original manuscripts agree 100%. They all have numerous variations.
Which one are you going to believe? Do you really think that King James, the great persecutor of witches, who we know know were just innocent people killed for reasons of greed and corruption, was truly inspired by God?

They have actually untouched the bible. It's other religions that have omitted God's name Jehovah or Yah-weh out of the bible.
Jesus comanded his disciples to preach and spread God's world. It was a job each follwer of Christ had to do.
Do you preach? Are you involved in the spreading of God's word? Have you individually done any work for God? Do you sacrifice your free time for God? Do you expect money in return for working for God? does your priest expect money in return for teaching the word of God?
Jesus came to teach us and he did not charge us anything. He willingly spend all his life preaching from village to village until death.
It is a Christians Job to be a witness of God in this evil world.
It's not about been saved, it is about doing God's will and sanctifying his name.
EDIT:
Im not a JW but do realize they understand the Bible better than any other religion.

Jehovah's Witnesses have neither "added" nor "taken away" from the bible, and understand that doing so would be wrong.
Jehovah's Witnesses readily acknowledge that Jesus is a god, but note that the bible uses the term "god" to refer to many powerful persons, and not exclusively in reference to Almighty Jehovah (God the Father).
. . Jesus as "a god": (John 1:1; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:18)
. . Angels as 'gods': (Psalm 82:1)
. . Satan as a 'god': (2 Corinthians 4:4)
. . Human judges as "gods": (Psalm 82:6-8)
...(1 Corinthians 8:5) there are those who are called “gods,” whether in heaven or on earth
Jehovah's Witnesses fully understand that salvation is an undeserved gift, but recognize the obvious bible teaching that a person can disqualify himself from receiving this gift. Professed "faith" is not a license for a sinner to continue to indulge his sin.
(Matthew 7:20-23) Really, then, by their fruits you will recognize... “Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’ And yet then I will confess to them: I never knew you! Get away from me, you workers of lawlessness.
One's faith must have SOME effect on the individual's personality and lifecourse. The Scriptures quite plainly explain that humans can disqualify themselves from receiving everlasting life; it is only the faithful COMPLETION of a life course that assures salvation. [Emphasis added to citations below.]
(Zephaniah 2:3) Seek Jehovah, all you meek ones of the earth, who have practiced His own judicial decision. Seek righteousness, seek meekness. PROBABLY you may be concealed in the day of Jehovah's anger.
(Amos 5:15) Hate what is bad, and love what is good, and give justice a place in the gate. It MAY be that Jehovah the God of armies will show favor
(Matthew 7:13-14) Go in through the narrow gate; because broad and spacious is the road leading off into destruction, and many are the ones going in through it; 14 whereas narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are the ones finding it.
(Matthew 24:13) But he that has endured TO THE END is the one that will be saved.
(Philippians 2:12) Keep WORKING OUT your own salvation with fear and trembling
(Hebrews 10:26-27) For if we practice sin willfully after having received the accurate knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice for sins left, 27 but there is a certain fearful expectation of judgment
(Hebrews 5:9) [Jesus] became responsible for everlasting salvation to all those OBEYING him
(James 2:14,17) Of what benefit is it, my brothers, if a certain one says he has faith but he does not have works? That faith cannot save him, can it? ...17 Thus, too, faith, if it does not have works, is dead in itself.

We haven't. It is a misconception. Honestly, no one has a "perfect translation" of the original scriptures.

They did not rewrite the Bibel, they translated it correctly based on the crap provided concerning the NT. You cannot come up with correct translations when the one you use is already incorrect.
