You should call the place that's gonna do it and ask them. I think you are supposed to wait until it's healed, which can vary from person to person. I would get it done sooner so you give yourself more time to heal instead of taking a chance.

Get it done as early as possible. The minimum healing time for navel piercings is a solid 4-6 months. People get away with a lot before it's healed, but think of this-how many people do you know that have never peed in the ocean/pool? Along with all the other gross things in the water. Chlorine would be terrible for a healing piercing, too. Ideally, get it done 6 months before holiday and continue to clean it with sea salt soaks and soap every time you swim just in case. Some people take well over a year for this to completely heal. The outsides of the holes may look healed, but it's still healing inside. Think of all the stuff that can get in there while swimming, basically jsut soaking your piercing in filth and chemicals. Make it a Christmas (or other winter holiday) present! That'd mean you don't have to worry about it by next august at all.

I Have My Belly Button Done And Have Done Since I Was 13. Its Great And I Have No Regrets. I Personally Think That You Should Get It Done End Of May Start Of June. This Way You Have Let It Heal Better. As Long As You Keep It Clean And Put Suncream On And Around It You Should Be Fine.
Good Luck

It will be fine after a month...maybe. Alot depends on if you have any kind of reaction to the metal and how well you keep it clean. When I got mine (8 years ago) I was told after a month that I could go into pools and what not. I have since removed mine. Pregnancy and a ring in your belly don't mix. Chances are your belly button will not be pretty looking (crusty and icky) and still be sore if you snag it. Honestly I would wait until after your vacation. At least then you'll have a pretty belly to look at.

You will beable to go swimming. I had mine peirced and had gone swimming in a pool a couple of weeks later! Just make sure to keep it very clean at first. And dont worry about all that other humbo jumbo....if you decide to take it out the hole will heal right up. They are hot. Have fun.

Hi i think it will be fine as long as you remember to keep it clean as you would with any other piercing. They do say to keep the piercing in for a few months before changing it, so if you do want to change it to a lovely one you have in mind may be you should get it done just a little sooner. Enjoy your holiday when it comes round.

its completely ok to go in the swimming pool and sunbathe..this won't affect you piercing at all. just make sure you clean it regularily and keep it steril. however, if you want to be able to take it out for a couple of days and not have to worry about the hole closing, i suggest you get it pierced now..ive had my belly pierced for 2 years and it took several months until i could take it out without it closing in a day. but that depends on the person..its different for everyone.so if taking it out is the least of your worries and you just want it done for your vacay, its absolutly fine =)

hello, it should be fine as long as you keep it clean and dont get it infected before you go away.you can use warm water with salt in to clean around piercing or get some sterile wipes.its normally healed up by a month anyway.swimming is fine whether its healed or not.hope this helps.
