Rabbits, eggs, santa, decorated trees all are pagan. Think
about the similarities between our Lord, Jesus, and santa
which people teach their innocent babes:

They both know if you've been sleeping, know if you're
awake, know if you've been good or bad.

They both come from up high & travel through the sky.

No bolt nor lock can keep them out, and they have a
might shout.

One rises up the chimney, the other from the dead.

Both are clothed in red, Jesus' red is the blood he shed.

We ask both for things.

Both reward you for being good.

One has 12 reindeer, the other 12 apostles.

Move the letter n from the middle of the word santa to the
end, and you get the spirit of this holiday; satan. Satan
wants to be worshipped in the place of God, and he is,
thru teaching babies that santa is the giver of good gifts.

The Pagans ( many centuries before Christ ) celebrated The Rebirth . Grasses and flowers popped up . Birds and animals were having their young , so it was a time for celebration . Everything suggesting rebirth was used as decoration - - - eggs , chicks , bunnies , all kinds of Spring flowers .
When Christianity came into being , the church stole the entire holiday , even to the rebirth idea . They had Jesus come back to life at that time ( rebirth ) . The Pagan decorations were taken over by Christianity and are still in use .

Nothing what so ever. These come from old Pagan celebrations. Rabbits are symbols of feritility as are eggs. They are both from the celebration of Ostara or better known to modern society as the Vernal Equinox or the Spring Equinox.

We Wiccans and Pagans still use them in our celebrations today of this Sabbat.

Even the name "Easter" has nothing to do with the resurrection of Jesus Christ. You know how Christians go to sunrise services? That's a sun worshiper's tradition.

I hate Easter, except for those See's candies chocolate- nougat filled, chocolate sprinkled eggs. They are sooooooo good!

Amen! Bunnies has nothing to do with Easter. Easter is all about Christ's resurrection. That's what is suppose to be about, at least. We are taking away the real meaning by having egg hunts. We should be thinking about what Christ did for us! If He hadn't done that we would all still be on our way to Hell! It was the most important day in all history and we are just making it another kid's game, fun day. What's wrong with the churches????

It doesn't.

Rabbits are extremely fertile creatures -- the perfect emblem for Spring because of their reproductive nature; representing the return of animal/plant life and the warmth of the sun to the earth.

Similarly, the egg represents new life and renewing the cycle of life over again. Hence the reason both are the symbols of Ostara -- a Light/Sun goddess from the pantheon of the Northmen (Norse culture), and a celebration of the Sun, and Fertility of the fields and crops.

Gee, usually this question comes up (and 25 times a day) when Easter rolls around.

How is Easter calculated in the first place? With the equinox and phases of the moon! Now if that doesn't scream "Pagan holiday", I don't know what does.

Are you a Jehovah's Witness or something?

Has nothing to do with the resurrection of Christ, but you have to admit that it can be kind of fun. I mean, I respect the true meaning of Easter and all, but it can be soooooooo depressing. We need something afterwords to liven things up a bit. Coloring Eggs and eating chocolate bunnies is a harmless way of getting together and having a good time. I think Christ would abide with that.

The Bunny and eggs are symbols of fertility.
Ostara is the reason for the season. Pagan holidays have outlasted Christian assault for centuries.
