"And now why are you waiting? Arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord." (Acts 22:16)
Notice Acts 19:1-5. Some had been baptized, but they were not baptized correctly. They were baptized according to John the Baptist's instructions when they should have been baptized according to Christ's instructions. John's baptism had been replaced by the baptism commanded in the Great Commission (Mark 16:16).
These people were then taught correctly, then they were baptized in the name of Christ (by the authority of Christ, or according to His instructions).
They previously did not understand correctly. If you have not been taught correctly (if you do not understand correctly), then you cannot obey correctly. When they were taught correctly, they obeyed correctly!
Jesus is, "the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey Him!" (Hebrews 5:9)

Baptism is an outward sign of an inward change that begins when we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior through salvation. At my church we baptise by immersion or dunking. When you are standing, it represents you dying to self and dying with Christ. When you go under the water, it represents being buried with Christ and coming up from the water represents rising to a new life in Christ. We should be baptized as obedience to Jesus's example when he was baptized by John the Baptist. To be baptized, you first must be saved, accepting Jesus as Lord and Savoir (Romans 10:9-10). Think and pray on this, seek God for an answer, believe He'll give it to you, and then you'll know what to do.

You should pray about it and talk it over with an elder or preacher at church, but if you feel you never consciously confessed that Jesus is the Son of God and were voluntarily baptized, you can and should be baptized now.
I've known people who were baptized when they were young and didn't really understand what they were doing, so they were baptized again when they were older. I don't think how old you are now really matters.

If you question your salvation, by all means be baptized. It's between you and God and if you're not comfortable, make sure. The only real issue here is people who have the need to be baptized again because they have been so sinful. That's not Biblical or necessary. But that's also not the situation you described.

Hey!
Were you baptized as an infant, is that what you mean?
You can always get baptized again if you would like to.
God knows your heart. Baptizism is a representation of the relationship you have with Christ. You don't need it to have a relationship with God, so it's not mandatory. If you'd like to make an outward display of what's happened on the inside of you (having a personal relationship with Christ), go ahead and talk to a pastor about it.
If you don't want to, then I wouldn't stress out about it. Getting baptized is a very special thing, but God won't love you any less if you don't.
If you feel stronly convicted about baptizism, talk to a pastor. I'm sure that he could offer you some advice.

You can be baptized again, if you think you need to. It's a little different situation, but my husband was baptized twice because he said the first time he didn't really know what he was doing, just going along with his friends. Maybe you should pray about it, then do what God puts in your heart.
