I really just don't want to believe that people actually have said here that the Buddhist monks will go to hell. My word, these monks have dedicated their lives to living with awareness, intention and peace. They put themselves on the line in hopes that other people can have better lives.

Any view that says that these genuine, wonderful people will be eternally tortured simply because they found a different way to peace -- that's not a view I want any part of. If that means I burn in hell with the monks, so be it. I'll be in better company.

Any Christian would sympathize with the Buddhist monks. Even if we don't agree on religion, they're way of life is peaceful- and God is all about peace. They don't deserve to be murdered Atheists or not.

For what? God judges their actions. They died trying to do something good for their country and fellow man. People do not go to hell for that. Some fundamentalist will say yes, because only THEY can go to Heaven. Boy are they going to get a surprise. Jesus told the Pharisees "Prostitutes and Tax Collectors are entering the Kingdom of Heaven before you." A clear message that modern Christians should take to heart. Don't be so smug about your beliefs. You may find that you are dead wrong about some of the things you believed so tenaciously.

It is up to God to decide who is saved and who isn't. Not us.

I think the key virtue here is integrity. Did they live their lives according to the truth that they ascribed to? Was there any hypocrisy in their actions? Did they give their lives in order to improve conditions for those around them? I can hardly judge someone so faithful as that to be evil. We must simply live our live to the fullest that we know and uderstand. God has taken care of the rest. Therein is the concept of Grace and works. I'm sure the monks will fare just fine at their judgement.

I don't know..... I doubt God would ever condemn a good person, that has sought to find him, to HELL. I don't think any one "group" has God's heart. The true Buddhist monks have spent their life in search of God, truth and meaning. Why would they be condemend because they were "LABELED" by man as "the other".

From Matthew 25:

31"When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory. 32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.

34 "Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'

37 "Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'

40 "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'

U send Urself to Hell by Not Accepting Christ as Ur Savior Period! Sin is Not the Issue. Christ paid for All Sins on the cross, but He Can Not pay for Anyones Disbelief in His Perfect Work. John

Probably...since, of course, anyone not with them go against them...so anyone other than a small percent of the world will go to Heaven...while the rest of us go burn in Hell...oh well, as long as I get away from them...I'm happy.

Greater love than this hath no man, than that he lay down his life for his friends. You think God is such a snobbish SOB or such an idiot He doesn't realize that those men are greater exemplars of the love of God than any of us!?
