In my wedding 16 years ago I had white calla lilies (cream color really), cream gerber daisies, lilac, among other things. I'm a floral designer and can tell you that for some reason calla lilies are what everyone is requesting this year. To be honest, they are not as nice as some other options, and they are one of the priciest flowers you can get. I just dont' get the attraction to calla lilies, but it isn't my choice if I'm just designing them and consulting with the bride. I did a wedding recently though that was actually very pretty. All of the table arrangements were done in fall shades with 3 cream calla lilies in the center of low bowls. I used oncydium orchids, dark red gerber daisies, hypericum (looks like a red berry), red spray roses, orange lilies and orange alstromeria (another user listed them as peruvian lilies, which is a garden name for what a florist calls alstromeria). A very nice combination, even considering I'm not a fan of the callas :)

I'm going to have peach and white roses and white calla lilies. I'm getting married 8-8-08. I'm doing everything myself (besides the cake and the pics). I'm ordering my flowers from a place online called. www.bigrose.com. I can get 200 roses for $199! It is a whole sale site that sales to the public. A lot of sites have what they call a wedding in a box that have everything you need to put everything together. www.growersbox.com is also a good site I have ordered stuff from them too.

Our colours for a July wedding were pink, lilac, yellow, and light teal, so we went with mixed flowers. Mine was a European handtied bouquet of a variety of flowers and colours - some roses, stargazer lily, carns, alstromeria, etc., and the bridesmaids had smaller versions. Guys boutonnieres were mini carns.

Peruvian Lilies and white roses. the lilies are small and are a great flower alone or with others. It was an October wedding so we had dark lilies. But the lilies come in all colors.

We purchased artificial flowers from local craft stores and Walmart.
We gave them to a florist who mixed them with real flowers for a beautiful look. ....and the price of the florist only came to $60!!!!
It was hard to tell that most of them were artificial. And now we will be able to keep them as a momento.

no flowers at any wedding. I was married in county courthouses all 4 times. But for the first, I wanted lilacs, ( had the wedding in the basement, in OCt. No lilac in sight!) for the second, wanted black roses, I got married to a biker, and again, in the courthouse, and no flowers, and for the third, I had a fake flower from the secretarie's desk, for the fourth, ( my current) I had a real, pink rose, and we bought it in a mini mart, and it was the last one they had that day.

I'm having white and lavender roses, freesia, and peonies. White stephanotis with pearl pins in the center. And white orchids with purple accents for the centerpieces.
