Not from my side of the bridge, but a number of my Christian friends couldn't cope with it.* My social life had also been almost totally church-community based, so a broader circle of acquaintances and contacts also disappeared.
*Prior to this, I had been training bible-study leaders and teaching evangelism, so it was seen as a significant apostasy.

No, nobody in my personal life seemed to be thinking much about religion except for me - I live in the UK.
I heard about a widespread phenomenon of people taping themselves denying the holy spirit, blaspheming and 'cutting themselves off from the lord' forever.
I had a problem with that and I couldn't quite figure out what it was - then I realised, it's the act of pretending that the holy spirit is worth denouncing in the first place - would you go stand on a street corner and deny the easter bunny? Who gives a damn, right? A lot of teenage 'atheists' in the US are more angry ex-christian anti-theists than regular atheists.

I suppose, such as the bridge to church. There was one good friend whom I didn't speak to for about 5 years (a mutual decision), but then she came to the same conclusion as me eventually and we reconnected. No one in my life really completely dis-owned me for being an atheist.

Not really...al those that would be truly affected by it don't know (and won't know)...I'm hiding it because if they DID know...then I WOULD have to burn those bridges...and I wouldn't want to do that with my grandmother...she'd have a heart attack (literally) It's hard enough with my mom....
