Professional Opinions Needed, Please. Applying for jobs.?

I am going to be graduating in Feruary of 08 with my Bachlors degree. Most of the jobs that I would like to apply for require a Bachlors degree.
My question is do you think that I should apply for those positions now, or should I wait till I have my degree?

Apply now, list on your resume the name of your college, name of your degree program and "expected graduation date February 2008"

You can apply now, but in your cover letter and resume make sure it clearly states that you will complete your degree in February 2008.

In my opinion, I would start sending out resumes soon if you're looking for a job in February. Most times they'll usually consider you for an interview, and if they're interested they'll hold the position until you've graduated (seeing as you'll be done in 4 months).

I think it depends on your profession

For instance most accountant get hired by big 4 firms in the summer so they can train and then get ready for busy season.

It also depends on your location

If you are in the rust belt the job market is a bit tougher so getting started now is a good approach

I would rely on your college placement office if you can if companies are coming in to interview

Finally - remember most jobs are arrived at by networking not by filling out applications and sending out resumes - so start talking to people!

You can start now. If they call you, explain your availability, i.e., that you will be graduating in February and cannot start the job until after you graduate. They will work around your schedule if they are interested.

I think you should apply now since you can tell them that you will have your degree by such and such a month. and do bring that up cause they will want to know .
