......the creation of the universe?!?
I've heard your theories of those wacky electrons, the thin blue gas, those unexplained gravitional pulls, etc. - all of which pre-suppose something has been here forever with no origin.
I've even heard that the universe itself has been here forever with no origin.
And finally - I've heard that just because you can't explain it doesn't mean you have to accept that GOD created it!
None of these answers make any sense - and of course, we all know how you guys love LOGIC and REASON.....
....so would one of you please explain creation to me without GOD?!?

Geezah - if you can't answer the question, you can't answer the question. If would be nice if you had the humility and the intellectual honesty to admit it, though.

Alia - OK for whom? You claim to believe in nothing without proof, solid, convincing evidence and yet you accept the creation of the universe without even so much as a simple explanation?!? I thought we were supposed to be the hypocrites!

I would suggest you start with "The Cartoon History of Time"
(Gribbin and Charlesworth)
It's a bit dated now, but covers all the basics you will need to understand the arguments for a quantum origin to the universe, and the observations that led to that view.
If you find that book doesn't make any sense, then I wouldn't know how to expain anything better.

The Great Divine's name is Yo! Yo! created the universe and everything in it. In the beginning was the word, and the word was Yo! It is the sound the Great Diving made when the earth evolved unexpectedly into a world of life. It is so pervasive a word that people recognize god in each other everyday with a wave and 'Yo!' which identifies the other person as a child of Yo!
Everyone knows the true story of creation began with the Easter Bunny laying eggs all over the place and then Christians, who had not been born yet, ran around and collected all the eggs into baskets that became the planets and the basket with the most eggs became the earth! Then god said, 'Let Jerry Falwell and other evangelists fill the earth with their BS,' and it was so. When too much BS filled the earth god had to flood the world with water and wash it off. Unfortunately, a few people got in the way and they drowned but fortunately Noah showed up at the last minute with his tardis, that resembled an ark instead of a British police phone box, and scooped billions of animals into it and saved creation! But god made a note to himself not to do it again and hung a rainbow in the sky that rains skittles on all good boys and girls all over the world. After thousands of years of well-meaning Jews killing each other and those in the land god gave them, god sent himself to earth where he was killed too but not until he promised to come back and save us again from a snake that gave an ignorant savage a mystical fruit that brought death to all of creation. But apparently he forgot because he did not leave a sticky note to himself not to forget like his dear old dad did. Now tell us how evolution is dumber than the Christian version of creation?

Assigning unknowns to a God is not logical. That can be seen throughout history. Every culture in recorded history assigned their unknowns to Gods, and ever time we discover the actual reason behind. The Greeks thought a God was in charge of moving the sun. The Romans though a God was in charge of making lightning. The Christians thought God made the stars and sun revolve around the earth. What makes you think the current unknowns will be any different?
Also, there is the obvious logic to your statement that would result in the question "Where did God come from".
And in reality, science does have some pretty supported theories as to the origin of the universe if you care to research it. And none of the evidence has ever supported the hypothesis of a God.

And if I can't explain it, that means "a big invisible man did it" must be the only correct answer? By default? Sorry, but science doesn't work that way.
You expect me to enter years and years of research in cosmology and physics in one little internet post? You're pathetic. Read a book.
>> all of which pre-suppose something has been
>> here forever with no origin.
Funny, the only person I see doing that is you, with God.
EDIT: No, YOU are the one who can't answer the question. That's why you fall back on the assumption of "It was an invisible man". I'm sick of playing this game with insincere zealots who can't do research on their own, and when I do the work for them by posting links and book references, it's never "good enough" for them. YOU are the one being dishonest if you expect me to give you the full answer to the creation of the universe in a single internet post. If you want to learn about cosmology, then get up and research cosmology.

Everyone on this post is missing the point of both religion and science.
Religion: Supposed to make you act better and me a good person, how t build instead of destroy (it doesnt give you answers)
Science: Supposed to help you in everyday life by finding what works and what doesnt and how to predict this using patterns (it never gives you true answers)
Religion and science are like oil and vinegar on a salad. They go together but they dont mix, also the salad is gonna taste like crap if you only have water or vinegar on it.
Both have made mistakes (jihad, atom bomb) but both have created good (unifying people into groups, flu shot)
Dont knock one or the other but take them both in good measure.

God is fake. What does that have to do with the creation of universe? Just because primitive goat herders thousands of years ago sought to explain natural phenomenon by creating "god", I must now explain the creation of the universe in scientific terms for you to be assured that it's all just make believe?
Why is that?

Look up "begging the question". Since there is no deity, use of the term "creation" is a fallacy.
Science does explain most of these things, to a greater or lesser extent. Yours is a "God of the Gaps" argument, and inherently anti-reason.

If you don't want to accept science, then please stop using your car, lights,micro-oven,toaster...and most importantly, your computer, because these are all about "those whacky electrons" and "those unexplained gravitational pulls".
If you choose to keep your eyes closed and ears shut, there's no way anyone can make you understand.

Dude read the Quran.
It tells you how:
Babies are made.
How the world was made accoridng to the Big Bang Law* (which has recently become a law not a model).
It tells you how the world will end The Big Crunch Theory*
(They haven't proven it yet)
Look it all up.
