As the wise man, Maynard once said:
"he has needs, like I do....we both want to rape you"

God created us for a divine purpose,to choose the righteous who will abide with him in complete bliss in the form of eternal paradise.he does not need us because he is perfect and exalted above the limitations which limit his creation but we surely need him.
GOD never created us out of a whim but with a divine purpose which only he can understand.

God created us, as His children, we had no wants, or needs, but we had a desire for more. God our Father created us a world to explore. But we wanted more. We wanted to be able to know what the universe that God created felt like, taste like, but most of all we want to be able to see and feel each other. God our Father made us houses, for His children, the spirits, so we could do all the things we could IMAGINE

First the nature of God is completely unknowable to humans. How can the imperfect choose what perfection is. My guess is God creates us out of LOVE. He doesn't need to create, He chooses to. His plan for us is not revealed. Maybe our short time here on Earth is a learning experience for eternity. Maybe he didn't want to hear "I'm bored" from anyone.

God created us because that's what God does. He creates. Everything God creates is out of unconditional love. Not out of necessity.

Needs? no, companionship? yes. There is a difference. Look at it like this, we as humans, do not need color, taste, feel, pleasure, but we have been given these anyways. Why would flowers evolve, what purpose do they serve? none. But we have them anyway Yes?

Neither, it is the nature of the source (I do not say cause) to emerge as the universe we experience.
But I'm agnostic.
