The Hebrews always believed in one God, when translated words were left out and change by the Greek translators and their customs and ideas of their God's crept into man made traditions, one being the trinity. First of all the spirit is not a person it's the active force of God and how he get's things done, so we are left with 2 persons, Jesus never admitted that he was God the father but always claimed to be the son of god and the son of man.

Because fear is the most productive tool these mind control cults have to win over and keep followers.
Source(s):
Remember, "god" is nothing more than a nonsense word created by man to explain away all of the things we can't yet understand.

Religion is a disease of the mind, born of fear, which has done nothing but bring untold misery down upon the human race.
If you can't get someone to convert willingly through preaching, fear is the next best tool.

Christianity for instance is based on two principles:

1. If you believe, you will be rewarded with the prospect of an eternity in Heaven when you die.

2. If you don't believe, you will be rewarded with the prospect of an eternity in Hell when you die.

For Christians:

God is all-loving, all-wise and all-merciful, so long as you submit to becoming a slave - salivating and singing heaps of praises on him for all eternity.

Much like an Earthly dictator who rules his subjects under rule of tyranny - submit or suffer.
Two methods in which religion spreads

1)Violence
2)Child Indoctrination

I doubt it. It was more intended to deal with the problem of Christ being God in a religion whose basic premise was that there is only one God. When early Christians decided to view Christ as an Avatar instead of a prophet, they had to fundamentally recast the Judaic idea of God.

You're right, however, that there are references to God in the Torah that are problematic for both Judaism and Christianity. Especially in Genesis, there are several sections that seem to show God with limited powers and knowledge - for instance, God asking where Adam is (3:9) or getting into an argument with Lot.

Have no other God before me. I believe it and follow it. I myself am not God therefore who am I to issue his commandments to others?

He doesn't make a list of which other gods so I can't say which if any others may exist. But believing that the commandments are the few things directly written by God I place more belief in those than much of what is attributed to him by others.

Yes,yes, you're right. What a fool I've been. I hereby denounce all belief in God=pardon me,god. I will no longer have anyone to pray to and I wont have anything to believe in. Oh-it will be wonderful to live without believeing there is a God who created me and the world and who looks out for me. I can surely live without belief and God. NOT

No, actually I think it is pretty awesome to be three in one, and honestly I have no problem with it. Never have. It is believable in my way of thinking. They all existed at the time of creation. All was created in, by through Christ and the Holy Spirit abounds in the physical absence of Jesus which reigns with the father in heaven. It is amazing and totally awesome.....that's just GOD!

No it was to satisfy the emperor's adherence to other pagan ideas.

This was accomplished by declaring the other doctrines heresy.
