It is true that there are many Bible passages (especially in the OT) that support capital punishment, often for relatively mild offenses:
- Adultery (Leviticus 20:10)
- Blasphemy (Leviticus 24:16)
- Breaking the Sabbath (Exodus 31:14 & 15)
- Disobedient children (Exodus 21:15 & 17; Leviticus 20:9)
- Homosexuality (Leviticus 20:13)
- Not being a virgin on your wedding night (but only if you're a woman - Deuteronomy 22:13-22)
But, there are many passages (esp. in the New Testament) that are ANTI-death penalty. For example, Matthew 5:38-39 insists that violence shall not beget violence. James 4:12 says that God is the only one who can take a life in the name of justice. Leviticus 19:18 warns against vengeance (which, really, is what the death penalty amounts to). In John 8:7, Jesus himself says, "let he who is without sin cast the first stone."
There are many, many practical problems with capital punishment (that I won't get into here), but purely from a moral standpoint, I can't imagine that Jesus would support it. True Christians shouldn't, either.

The God of Moses is Satan, Moses was deceived by Satan.
Those who follow the teachings of Moses and the 10 commandments are also being deceived.
Jesus said, "As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness so must the Son of man be lifted up"
Many of you try to fool yourselves, by believing the serpent that Jesus is talking about has nothing to do with the devil.
LIAR. You know who the serpent is, but you want to believe that killing in the name of your God is what God told you to do, but Jesus told you different, this is why you will not give up the 10 commandments for the 75 commandments of the one true God as given to you by His Son Jesus the Christ.
Read John 1:17, John 3:14, John 4:20-23, John 6:32, John 10:8, Luke 4:6 and 4:9, And Rev. 13:14-18, they all speak of Moses being deceived into worshiping Satan.
The "Promised Land" is the kingdom of heaven, it has never been a place here on earth.
Jesus said, "my kingdom is not of this world"

Because fear is the most productive tool these mind control cults have to win over and keep followers.
Source(s):
Remember, "god" is nothing more than a nonsense word created by man to explain away all of the things we can't yet understand.
Religion is a disease of the mind, born of fear, which has done nothing but bring untold misery down upon the human race.
If you can't get someone to convert willingly through preaching, fear is the next best tool.
Christianity for instance is based on two principles:
1. If you believe, you will be rewarded with the prospect of an eternity in Heaven when you die.
2. If you don't believe, you will be rewarded with the prospect of an eternity in Hell when you die.
For Christians:
God is all-loving, all-wise and all-merciful, so long as you submit to becoming a slave - salivating and singing heaps of praises on him for all eternity.
Much like an Earthly dictator who rules his subjects under rule of tyranny - submit or suffer.
Two methods in which religion spreads
1)Violence
2)Child Indoctrination

You do know the difference in sparing the innocent life of a baby is not the same thing as sparing the life of a person who is a convicted murder, who is a danger to society, Right?
By executing many of these people, society is probably saving others. How many convicted murders have been turned loose, only to murder again? Use your common sense. Both are ways to protect INNOCENT lives.

God ordained some wars...reading the Book relates how He wanted His people to be separate from the heathens. An eye for an eye..remember. Of course we are under a new covenant with New Testament but war still exists and you can go forth in war with God as your shield.

The death penalty for a murderer is Scriptual. Murdering innocent children is NOT. Not too hard to figure out, eh?
And there is a difference between defending your homeland from an agressor and Murdering innocent children. Again, pretty simple stuff, right?

Obviously you are not a true Christian. In the Bible Jesus tells us:
"Think not that I am come to send peace: I came not to send peace but a sword." (Matthew 10:34) "He that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one." (Luke 22:36) "But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me." (Luke 19:27.
