I really am not going to structure much. On this night Disney Channel is having spooky shows so that will be good and they'll do make up and stuff.

As far as food. I am having hot dogs, chips and pop for a late supper and then cake and ice cream about 8:00.

For later I am making a snack mix of popcorn, candy corn, M&M’s and peanuts.

Do you think that is enough food. I really do not want them bouncing off the walls or getting sick.

I think that's fine. Expect lots of giggling and don't make them go to bed. part of the fun of a sleepover is getting to stay up super-late. And hopefully, they will sleep in more in the morning! Keep an eye and an ear out but don't interfere with it either. You are a great parent for doing a sleepover. I wasn't allowed to have them as a kid cause my step-dad "couldn't handle the noise" and i was really jealous of those who had them!

I am mom to 4 kids. My youngest turned 10 this summer so I've planned tons of birthday parties and had many sleepovers at my house. By 10, all my kids were telling me what they wanted and I just OK'd or nixed the plan than helped them put it together. Ask your daughter what she wants, it's her birthday. My daughter and all her friends love fruits and vegetables so I'd suggest a fruit bowl and veggie tray with ranch dressing for dip with the hot dogs and chips. A group of 10 year old girls at a sleep-over will be bouncing off the walls regardless of what you serve and they are all old enough to eat what and how much they want so I doubt anyone will get sick. My daughter isn't into scary movies or "girly-girl" stuff so I know she wouldn't choose those things, but those are great ideas if your daughter is into them. You are wise not to structure much, they'll entertain themselves pretty well. Lots of talking and giggling will be enjoyed by all (well, not so much mom and dad!). If your daughter is anything like my kids, by the time they were 10, my job of entertaining was pretty much limited to fixing and serving the food plus keeping a watchful eye that everyone was behaving themselves. I defintely disagree with some of the other answers - I do not think you should eliminate the ice cream and cake unless your daughter doesn't want it. My kids loved my homemade chocolate chip cookies made into ice cream sandwiches. We'd assemble them when the guests first arrived, put them in the freezer and they'd be ready after dinner. Eating junk food and staying up all night - the makings of a memorable 10 year old birthday party!

cake, ice cream, candy corn, M&Ms AND no bounching off the walls... not sure that all adds up (let me guess, you are serving coke or other soad pops too).

Maybe you might want to cut back on a few of those sugars. Popcorn (lots of popcorn) is great since it doesn't have much suger (unless you are talking about carmel coated or some other specialty popcorn). You can also find other treats that are a little less sugar (like fruit roll-ups?).

Maybe just take the candy corns out of the snack mix. It is pure sugar....otherwise sounds good. Another suggestion is to make a small taco bar with fresh grated cheese and lettuce. Also fresh chopped tomatoes. Perhaps even some refried beans and you will be close to getting a more balanced meal. Just a thought and not meant to offend...I just do not do Hot dogs.

Have fun!

It's certainly enough food, and I'm sure it will please the 10-year-olds, but it might not thrill the parents. Personally, I'd make the late snack just popcorn considering all the sugar before that, and at least get a fruit or vegetable in there somewhere (carrots with the hot dogs? a fruit bowl with the popcorn?). Have a great party.

not attempting to be rude yet what in the worldwide did you anticipate? you have assorted little ones over - sure they'll stay unsleeping previous due and arise early ,that's what a sleepover is all approximately. do not your undergo in strategies them out of your formative years? sure, there will be a large number. they'll desire to play with each and every thing - actual you should be grateful the mess grew to become into restrained on your daughters room. strange mothers are in basic terms something you will ought to manage. i don't see why you probably did not in basic terms outright tell her you had someplace to be and you are able to desire to not communicate. Heck, provide her your telephone type to communicate later and in basic terms forget approximately it. so some distance as choosing up little ones at 11 - no one is precisely on time for choosing up their little ones from a sleepover, till you extremely state you had something to do, many mum and dad won't arrive on a 'time table' to %. up little ones. i think of your expectancies have been somewhat skewed in this occasion. do not cancel the social gathering - the ladies are making plans on it - in basic terms study to relax, issues will take place. it incredibly is a component of parenting. not each and every thing will bypass as planned, in basic terms bypass with the pass.

yeah that's enough food, but you might want to serve dinner earlier so you can serve the cake and ice cream earlier too. If you give them cake and ice cream at 8 they will be sugar high all night.

Question if your using peanuts have you checked for allergies, just want you to have a safe night, how about some choc covered fruit, healthy and fun ask your daughter what her friends like, unless it is a surprise. Sounds like a fun night though, have fun and wish our daughter happy birthday from us all.

I think it sounds great and parties are supposed to be fun and the time you junk out, not get in your veggies and these girls are 10 not 5, I think their parents would be fine with m&m's in their popcorn.

Sounds like a fun party for your daughter and her friends.
