actually im going on a route from hung hom to shanghai.. im not staying in hk n upon arrival in hk,i will like to buy the train tickets immediately..am i able to do so? or do i have to make an advance booking for the tickets? if yes,how many hours or days in advance? i really need to depart from hung hom to shanghai upon arriving in hk immediately..i will be going to hk on dec 18th 2007. pls help me..thx..

well if it is the KCR underground in HK then you can buy tickets instantly and go without booking in advance but if it is a long journey then i;m not sure

Always better to book in advance because hard sleepers are the best and they sell out very fast and you dont really want to be in hard seat for so long.
You cant buy the ticket from the website but you can book tickets by email at www.kcrc.com and pick up tickets at the booking office, or just buy them at the station reservations office.

Go to http://www.kcrc.com/ as I mentioned in the other post. You are going near the Christmas time, so it could be a busy season to have tickets immediately.
