Why all the excitement about Satanism today?

I've seen more questions about satanic books and practices posted today than I have seen in quite a while. Is there any signifigance?

The closer we get to Halloween or Samhain, the more anti pagan/satanish/witch propaganda we will see. There will be more reports of Hollywood type witchcraft obsessed teens doing stuff in cemeteries and nut jobs hurting black cats now too. It's the time of year.
