I am a former chef and have peeled my share of Hazelnuts and the method "Miami Lilly" has said is the fastest and most effective way.

For the cloth use something like an old towel, for the ridges in the terrycloth aid in removing the outer skin, but one word of caution, let them cool a bit after roasting them and when they start to smell of a nutty aroma, get them out they burn quickly, and are very unpleasant if overcooked.

Roast Hazelnuts until they turn a shade darker and skin flakes fall off easily (5-10 minutes) Don’t burn!

Tonight before bed, use a light exfoliating cleanser on them. Then cover your mouth for 5 minutes with a warm, damp wash cloth. Pat dry, then apply vaseline liberally. One thing I want to mention is that if you use whitening toothpaste or mouthwash it can cause flaky, dry lips. Good luck, I know it sucks!

I heard you roast them in an oven until they get warm, and then gather them up in a clean dishtowel and rub them altogether.
