Did they wear other underwear under that or was their junk just out on the loose.

Plastikpunk: Really? Your own Heber J. Grant made this decision. See this book page 138:

Buerger, David John (2002), The Mysteries of Godliness: A History of Mormon Temple Worship (2nd ed.), Salt Lake City: Signature Books, ISBN 1560851767.

The temple garments your referring to, "represents the sacred and personal aspects of their relationship with God" according to Mormon practices.

The original purpose of wearing garments was to remind the men of their blood oaths (no longer practiced officially) - especially oaths of secrecy regarding the plural marriage doctrine (abolished officially).

For more detailed information, I suggest you contact the nearest Mormon Tabernacle.

With all due respect, I am not going to discuss my garments in this forum. If you are sincerely interested in learning something sacred, then you may contact me personally via email.
Yes, there were reasons for design change.

Meat bot - considering your other questions, I don't think you'd know respect when it hit you upside the head.

When did asking people about their underwear become appropriate? Yeah I don't think it is.

You are being very disrespectful.

Quit mocking sacred things. Seriously it is getting really old and showing all of us how disturbed you are.
