Daniel 25: He will speak against the Most High and oppress his saints and try to change the set times and the laws. The saints will be handed over to him for a time, times and half a time
for a year, 2 years and half a year
3 1/2 years
1 day=1 prophetic year
1260 years
as in Revelations 11:3
And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth
The papacy was established in 538 Ad after the defeat of the ostrogoth european tribes
1260 years later Napoleon arrests Pope Pius VI and dissolves the catholic church
The kingdom of the beast as prophesied lasted 1260 years before receiving its first deadly wound.......
but of course the vatican recovers by 1929, when it's declared a self-autonomous state
accurate timing would you say, and after all the bible is the word of God

Paul Cyp is the papacy was established by christ
why did they kill millions of christians during the spanish inquisition were they never really the church of christ or simply doing god's work?
Why is there a large egyptain monolith in the vatican, the same kind the egyptians used to worship isis and horus, infact the very kind seeing as the pope at that time had to go to egypt to get it. Read the old testament and find out what God did to the chaldeans and their needle monoliths.
Why does the pope not beleive in genesis or revelations and say evolution is ok?

You are wrong it was 1253 years .1791 when it happened
Napoleon had not long set his hand to the task of restoring order in France when he realised that the Churchs aid was indispensable to him. Shortly after his election as First Consul, therefore, he opened up with Pope Pius VII, negotions which led to a Concordat between France and the Holy See, concluded in 1802. By the terms of the Concordat: the public practice of the Catholic religion was to be once more made legal in France

Well done. It would be good for all sincere and honest catholics to become intelligent as to the origin and nature of the papal system in light of these prophecies.
However the papacy's "deadly wound" has not been completely healed yet and will not be until she has regained her temporal power. It is "her image" that will prepare the way for that to happen. Revelation 13:14.
"When the leading churches of America, uniting upon such points of doctrine as are held by them in common, shall influence the state to enforce their decrees and to sustain their institutions, then Protestant America will have formed an image of the Roman hierarchy and the infliction of civil penalties upon dissenters will inevitably result."

Paul Cyp wrote: Yes, the Bible is the Word of God. However, your unauthoritative, self-serving personal interpretations of it are far from the Word of God. The papacy was established when Christ told the Apostle Simon "thou art Rock, and upon this Rock I will build my Church" ... "I give unto you the keys to my kingdom".
Answer: Peter signifies a stone,--s rolling stone. Peter was not the rock upon which the church was founded. The gates of hell did prevail against him when he denied his Lord with cursing and swearing. The church was built upon One against whom the gates of hell could not prevail.
"Other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ." 1 Corinthians 3:11. "Upon this Rock, " said Jesus, "I will build My church." The Rock is Himself.

what does 3 1/2 years have to do with 1260 years?
that is daniel 7:25, which refers to the antichrist...when did the pope subdue 3 kings (v 24)...and when was he in charge of 10 kings...?
the fourth beast is a combination of the lion (babylon), bear (medopersia), and leopard (Greece) Rev 13:2
if you look at a map, this is the muslim world....
babylon was once destroyed....but it is back ( wound healed) as Iraq
the map below looks like a beast

+ The Inquisition +
Modern historians have long known that the popular view of the Inquisition is a myth. The Inquisition was actually an attempt by the Catholic Church to stop unjust executions.
Heresy was a capital offense against the state. Rulers of the state, whose authority was believed to come from God, had no patience for heretics. Neither did common people, who saw heretics as dangerous outsiders who would bring down divine wrath.
When someone was accused of heresy in the early Middle Ages, they were brought to the local lord for judgment, just as if they had stolen a pig. It was not easy to discern whether the accused was really a heretic. The lord needed some basic theological training, very few did. The sad result is that uncounted thousands across Europe were executed by secular authorities without fair trials or a competent judge of the crime.
The Catholic Church's response to this problem was the Inquisition, an attempt to provide fair trials for accused heretics using laws of evidence and presided over by knowledgeable judges.
From the perspective of secular authorities, heretics were traitors to God and the king and therefore deserved death. From the perspective of the Church, however, heretics were lost sheep who had strayed from the flock. As shepherds, the pope and bishops had a duty to bring them back into the fold, just as the Good Shepherd had commanded them. So, while medieval secular leaders were trying to safeguard their kingdoms, the Church was trying to save souls. The Inquisition provided a means for heretics to escape death and return to the community.
Most people tried for heresy by the Inquisition were either acquitted or had their sentences suspended. Those found guilty of grave error were allowed to confess their sin, do penance, and be restored to the Body of Christ. The underlying assumption of the Inquisition was that, like lost sheep, heretics had simply strayed.
If, however, an inquisitor determined that a particular sheep had purposely left the flock, there was nothing more that could be done. Unrepentant or obstinate heretics were excommunicated and given over to secular authorities. Despite popular myth, the Inquisition did not burn heretics. It was the secular authorities that held heresy to be a capital offense, not the Church. The simple fact is that the medieval Inquisition saved uncounted thousands of innocent (and even not-so-innocent) people who would otherwise have been roasted by secular lords or mob rule.
Where did this myth come from? After 1530, the Inquisition began to turn its attention to the new heresy of Lutheranism. It was the Protestant Reformation and the rivalries it spawned that would give birth to the myth. Innumerable books and pamphlets poured from the printing presses of Protestant countries at war with Spain accusing the Spanish Inquisition of inhuman depravity and horrible atrocities in the New World.

+ The Monolith +
Pope Sixtus V (1585-1590) directed the obelisk to be re-erected at the center of the square in 1586, in front of the "new" Basilica of Saint Peter, which was being built at that time.
The Egyptologist Labib Habachi gives the most accepted reason in his book, "The Obelisk of Egypt" (1977 Charles Scribner's Sons):
"Legend has it that in the Vatican Circus innumerable Christians, including St. Peter, were put to death and that the reason this obelisk was not later overturned as were all the others in Rome was that it was looked upon as the last witness to the martyrdom of St. Peter."
To think that this obelisk, this exact piece of stone, may have been the last thing that Saint Peter looked upon before his death while being crucified upside down is awe inspiring.

+ Creation and Evolution +
Most Christians do not take the stories of creation in the Bible literally. Catholics believe the book of Genesis tells religious truth and not necessarily historical fact.
One of the religious truths is that God created everything and declared all was good.
Catholics can believe in the theories of the big bang or evolution or both or neither.
On August 12, 1950 Pope Pius XII said in his encyclical Humani generis:
The Teaching Authority of the Church does not forbid that, in conformity with the present state of human sciences and sacred theology, research and discussions, on the part of men experienced in both fields, take place with regard to the doctrine of evolution, in as far as it inquires into the origin of the human body as coming from pre-existent and living matter - for the Catholic faith obliges us to hold that souls are immediately created by God.
Here is the complete encyclical: http://www.vatican.va/holy_father/pius_xii/encyclicals/documents/hf_p-xii_enc_12081950_humani-generis_en.html
The Church supports science in the discovery of God's creation. At this time, the theories of the big bang and evolution are the most logical scientific explanations. However tomorrow someone may come up with better ideas.
As long as we believe that God started the whole thing, both the Bible and modern science can live in harmony.
+ With love in Christ.
