Yes. You get a conditional green card until you have been married two years, then you and your spouse must file a form to remove the conditions so that he can become a permanent resident. If you don't file this, you run the risk of loosing the temporary green card, therefore being out of status.

It could take longer. You may apply for the permanent green card right away...immediately upon marriage. The process will take years before you are approved for a permanent green card.
