Let me put it this way...childbirth feels like you're trying to poop a Golden Retriever.
Not fun...but the joy that comes afterwards makes up for it!!

Yes it hurts, but it's not as bad as everyone makes out. Don't listen to horror stories, because they will freak you out - You need to go in with a positive attitude, the more calm you are, the more endorphins your body will produce - As you probably know endorphins work as pain releivers, and they alter your awareness of time - So the labour will feel much faster than it really is. You may make it to hospital in time for an epidural yet hun, but if you don't, don't worry - The contractions come and go, and they hurt the most half way through, so it's not a constant pain like a headache or something. Yes those contractions are awful, but remember the pain all goes away once your baby is born. I didn't have an epidural with my first, and I'm doing it again - So it can't be too bad can it hun :) Good luck and please try not to worry - Look up hypnobirthing CD's online if you want to try and feel more calm, and remember don't listen to the horror stories You are going to be just fine xxx

Does childbirth hurt more than...
going ahead and cutting off your leg and then on top of that, crawling to the emergency room?
YEP, for sure. A charlie horse, come on now.
Hmmm, lets compare, a cramp or pushing a 8 lb body out of your vagina...you do the math.

You know what its probley 100 times worse then that. Its crazy pain. Your going to want people there to help you and if you are allowed medicine for the pain then you might do so...depends on your situation at the time. IT HURTS liek NO OTHER!
Just try to make the best of it and anything that might help like a rub here and there or someones hand, then do so! That does help. My self I wa sin labour over 20 hours. And I was in pain for about 17 hours of it b4 my epidural.

my mom says that yeah it hurts, but after the pain's over it's so worth it because you have a new baby. it's like once you have the baby in your arms you forget all about the pain.

It depends, On you how you handle pain. How many kids you have. etc. For me it was pretty painful and but Id rather have a baby then have my tonsils removed any day.
