Many evangelical Christians think we need to work to reduce man's effect on climate. Protecting God's creation. More here:

"“Whether God created the Earth in a millisecond or whether it evolved over billions of years, the issue we agree on is that it needs to be cared for today,” said Rich Cizik, vice president of government relations for the National Association of Evangelicals, which represents 45,000 churches."

jim z - evangelical Christians are liberals? Actual data shows they don't vote that way. This guy, liberal?

Pat Robertson (_very_ conservative Christian leader) 'It is getting hotter and the ice caps are melting and there is a build up of carbon dioxide in the air. We really need to do something on fossil fuels.”

I don't remember an American Church getting behind environmentalism but I think it is a good idea. After all the Bible calls us stewards of the Earth.

Most christian non denominational churches are for protecting the environment. However, since the science regarding global warming is so week most christians don't think it is man made and thus nothing to fear as the earths climat changes so offten. It is true that we are heating up, but it is so slow in comming that it will really not effect us dramaticly as seen in TV.

Most churches are very concerned about the environment. Being concerned about the environment, though, does not correllate necessarily with being up in arms about global warming. Global warming, and global cooling, will happen no matter how much churches or anyone else says about it. Life goes on, the planet changes, man adapts (or becomes extinct, whichever comes first).

How can anyone be so ignorant as to see environmentalism as a "liberal" concern? It must be true that stupidity has no limits.

I remember. There are liberal churches after all. It is hard to blame them. They are not scientists. With all the scare tactics going on, how are they to know what is hype and what is true.
