my wife wants to keep my hair relatively short, but wants it in a VERY feminine and unusual style. Any suggesstions, links, pics?

Here try this program, there are over 100 hair styles for women and men. If you want to use your own picture then you will need to pay for it. But your wife can have fun with it, change the hair color, style, even have a go at the make up. then print the picture out. It's called 'Beauty Wizard'
This is a very clean program, nothing to harm your computer, so have fun and enjoy.

I had a bob cut that was chin length in the front, but tappered towards the back, it really only works if you have straight hair or are willing to straighten it every day. but it was short and out of the way, and it was so cute!!
