Having a new york driver's license but being in new jersey.

You need valid proof of age. A NY drivers license should work for that.

Yes i work at a gas station in illinois that sell alchol and liquior and we take out of state ids as long as its still valid and you are over 21 and if the picture is you and not tampered with.

i used Canadian id in new york so I don't see what the difference would be
