It was and it still is. For 600/500 bucks, you get a video game console that can play Blu-ray movies. A Blu-ray player costs around 1000 bucks when the PS3 first came out, and it's now down to about 500 bucks. You also get Wi-Fi out of the box. To get Wi-Fi for the360, you need to spend 100 bucks. You can use a SATA lap top hard drive for the PS3 instead of buying it from Sony. For the 360, you need to spend 100 bucks just for 20 gb, and 180 bucks for the 120 gb. Online play is free. The games are 60 bucks, but games like Heavenly Sword and Lair are about 25 gb, while 360 games are 60 bucks, but they're only around 9 gb max.

"Other than Blueray" To the genious above blueray game format iswhat makes it better--- the PS3 games are produced on 50gig blueray so the game developers can put out a huge game with complete maps without sacrificing HD graphics and sound effects.....Example Halo 3 is limited by the xbox 360 8gig dvd format so the game takes a little more than an afternoon to complete, the maps seem unfinished and wow in the next month I can pay xboxlive to download additional content that should have come with the game to begin with....
For the money if you were to by an xbox 360 you would have to including the addons over $700 to get close to what the ps3 is capable of.... But even after you spend the $700 + you still get stuck with 8gig hd games and you still get stuck with outdated dx9 graphics....
THe ps3 is only 499 for the 60gig....and it comes with everything you need out of the box for gaming now and in the future.....50 GIG BLUERAY HD GAMES!!!!!!!!!!!

You know what I think? I think that it's a waste of money to even buy consoles like PS3 and XBOX 360. Why not just go to a computer store and get you a mega gaming computer system? I personally think that the computer's pros outweigh any other consoles out there. Besides, when you are online you have millions of online games that you can play. Not can you just play by yourself but, you have to option to play online with many people around the world. For example, i'd rather buy a dual core processor computer over a PS3, for the fact that I can play online gameing with bunch of people instead of myself. This is only my opinion. Anyone that agrees rep me :D

As usual, Sony has a long-term strategy. Visit www.ign.com and see how many games are coming. Sony expects PS3 to stay on market for 7-10 years. Xbox360 - already getting old. Rockstar already complained, that they have to release GTA IV for Xbox 360 on several DVDs. PS3 will hold fine the whole game on 1 BD-DVD.

Other than the Blue Ray drive, the PS3 has no other significant advantages over the Xbox 360. It really comes down to the games you like to play. Each console has it's own big title games.

Its the worst gaming system; has no games. Far better off with a 360 or a Wii; If you need a Blue Ray player though, Its an excellent price.
