Civil lawyers work on a contingency basis. They take the case up front, if they think they have a case and then take a cut of the settlement as their payment (usually 30 to 50 %).

I really think you should seek out services of a professional therapist. Do you take medication? If so be sure you are doing so exactly as prescribed. If not, you should maybe go to the emergency room and tell them what you are feeling and see how they can help you

You can represent yourself in any court case, but you have to be versed in law at least enough to know how to do that. Court procedures have to be completed in the time frame, so looking up all the info yourself will probably not be fast enough before statutes expire.

Plus, along with attorney fees there are court fees, so you need money either way. "In this country you can have about as much justice as you can afford."

You can contact a lawyer whohandles civil cases and ask them if they will work on a contingency basis (They do not get paid unless you win), you have to pay court costs and expenses but the attorney fees will not comeout unless you win.

Just because you have made several post's now on the reasoning you are wanting to sue. I really don't think even a attorney would touch it. I suggest instead of talking to a attorney you find yourself a really good doctor.

if you have a good case and a good reason to be trying to sue people, call around, you might find a lawyer to work pro bono...( I think thats what its called) thats where you dont pay until they collect money for you.

Be your own attorney and handle the case yourself. Judges need a good laugh too.
