"Like Jesus" doesn't mean the things that's happened to him.... HELLO.

2007-10-05 03:32:09 · update #1

I guess atheists don't know what "like" means. Does it mean what OTHERS are like? And what they did to the one you're supposed to be like? Did I ask if you were like Jesus what would you do different? No. ......"if you were LIKE CHRIST....."

I am an atheist but I believe that Jesus was a real person. I think that it is important to be kind to your fellow man. Instead of being judgmental I always try to walk a mile in their shoes....it is sometimes difficult and I sometimes forget that we all have hopes and fears and that we all struggle to make good choices. I try to separate the behavior from the person. I.E. I hate the way they act, but I don't hate them. I try to do kind acts in the hopes that people will see that and try to do the same.

The answer to this is plainly "No".

You ask a question that implies an ability people don't have. Even if you were just like Jesus, and didn't believe in him, you are just a nice guy that is going to go to hell.

Eternity alone, without God, because while you had a chance, you didn't want him, and don't think once you get to that place that you are going to change your mind. God is Just and is not going to take you kicking and screaming to live with him.

The fact is, that "Christians" that is "mini-Christ's" imitate him, and have an extremely close relationship with him. He is our God. He comes and lives in us, and starts cleaning house.

He is the only Clean thing that can make something that is unclean, Clean. But as for the benefit of living "Like" Jesus, the answer is no. Jesus needs to live through us, it isn't about us at all. It is about God.

Heaven is just a name of a place where we go to be with God. If you don't want to be with God you won't go there to be with him, you get to keep what you have. That is your wants and desires, you.

And you will never be satisfied. You will always be thirsty and hungry, and alone. All alone to satisfy you. But you can't be content, you never will be, because Jesus is Contentment.

In fifty 5 years of my lifestyles, I actual have in no way had a non believing buddy ever flow in any way in the direction of any faith. If something, maximum have become extremely greater proof against the form of ingredient, by way of their greater advantageous gathered know-how on the subject of the absurdity of all religions. religious human beings like to push the parable of the atheist who joins their faith. it is so uncommon an adventure, that that's turns into noteworthy because of the fact it is so uncommon. meanwhile, those comparable believers forget on the subject of the veritable floods of their former fellow believers leaving their faith for atheism, on a similar time as focusing on the very uncommon shifting atheist. That, of direction, is a show of dishonesty.

I would understand empathy and self-sacrifice on a totally unimaginable level, my ability to forgive would be legendary. My pains would be unmeasurable, and my joys would be spiritually sublime. My victory would be a victory for all mankind, for having been convicted without blemish I conquer hell and death in the same act of sacrifice; I would be the embodiment of the plan of salvation. But, I am no Jesus...fortunately for us all, Jesus is.

Well, I have no problem with Jesus. It's his hypocritical followers who are nothing like him, yet threaten people about going to hell, like they really know what's going to happen in the future.

If I was like Jesus, I'd be a guy with a wife with long red hair and a mom who was raped by some guy in the sky.

I would have really good friends that used to murder, prostitute and rob but none of that would matter to me, I would still love them for who they were.... I would be given a hard time for having beliefs that were different than others. I would have people following me around expecting me to perform miracles for them all the time. I would be loved and hated and still be at peace and happy.
