Don't take a tour, go on your own. It will be cheaper and you will have a lot more satisfaction out of your experience. Shop for the airplane ticket on line (depending where you are, you can count on spending about $1000 US (or Canadian $ now hehe!) for the flight. For hotels, just book it on line. Ask on this site for advice. For touring within HK, get tons of information from great websites like www.discoverhongkong.com...and that's it, you are on your own...Just have fun and discover HK, my favourite city in the world, and where my best friend and favourite yahoo answers buddy lives too! ;)

Most travel agencies simply book and buy tour packages from a tour wholesaler. Thus, the cost of a Hongkong tour ( or a tour to another country ) to travel agencies is the same. The margin or mark-up will depend on the travel agency. To get the cheapest tour price, call all the travel agencies in your area - use the phone book.

There is no cheap fare, it is all over 1000$!! However, if you use the oasis airline from Vancouver, it costs around 200 dollars or so they say.
