Anybody who doesn't want to visit China is a stupid, lazy, and completely ignorant! China is the place in the world to discover love, devotion, and the true purpose of life! Any westerner who complains about China is a true b*tch! Westerners come to China and expect the full red carpet treatment, but they have nothing to give in return! China is a great culture and a wonderful place to learn and understand the human heart! Loving China is loving the whole world! There is sh*t and germs everywhere in western society, but they can't smell it because their noses are clogged with chemicals!

I don't know where you get your statistics, but I would be interested to know...
In the past 20 years since China has opened up its door to independent tourists, millions have flocked there. I for one took my first trip there in 1984 and went back a dozen times since then. China is not a country for tourism, but more for the adventurous traveler who is not afraid of being challenged, culturally, linguistically, etc. As more people discover that country, the outside world will learn more. I took my two daughters aged 12 and 16 (typical teenagers whose idea of a good time is to be locked in for a whole weekend in a shopping mall) for their first trip there last summer, and since we came back all they've been talking about is of the great time they had there, wanting to go back and even to move there as soon as we can. We traveled by train for days on end in hard seats, took long distance night buses, stayed in budget hostels, ate fantastic food from street kitchens, visited incredible places, met wonderful friends all over the place...
I have nothing against people whose dream is to take an all-inclusive holiday in a generic caribbean resort on a generic asepticised beach, eating generic buffet-style food. There is a time for that. But I think that the world is too big and too diverse and too interesting to miss out on places, people and cultures like in China and other "non-traditional" tourist spots...

Actually, there is some truth to it that many people don't want to visit China. I am visiting China. However, I couldn't find any travel buddy who would be available on my dates and believe me, I searched for months! Nobody at work wants to go to China even though they are going to different places especially Europe. None of my aquantainces want to go to China. In fact, I only know of one who went to China and that was only because his daughter is teaching in China. I don't really know the reason and I never asked. The other one I know goes to China every year for women but I didn't think that's kinda nice. ^_^"

Maybe because Japan, a democratic (not communist), safer, cleaner country that has more English speakers is right next to China has something to do with it... Just a thought.

It is a myth that China is a dangerous place. A place that is full of filth, cheats, deceits, and garbage. Well, any where in the world you will find such a place, not just China.
