Why is it that the last few times i have had cod ( both from the chip shop and fresh off the fishmonger ) it has no flavour whatsoever...what has happened to our cod?

I Don't know either, but I agree with you, it has lost it's flavour!
I don't think they can farm cod, like they do salmon or trout, I might be wrong, because if they do then that would account for it, because farm reared trout or salmon really taste bland, and nothing like the wild variety, but assuming they don't farm cod, then the only explanation is because so little cod in our shops is any longer locally caught, then the fish we do get, come from further afield, meaning they are deep frozen, and transported huge distances, then thawed out and presented to us as fresh! This process can't help the flavour, can it?

Frozen, and that's assuming it's real cod and not trying to pass some lesser fish variety.

People in this country still believe that you can get fresh fish. I'm sorry to disappoint anyone, but the boats can't just fish that close to our shores. It takes more than 24h to come back to port from where the fishing grounds are.

It could be imported, either that or they're using some sort of cod alternative - e.g. Pollock, given the UK's cod stock situation - just a thought!

You never used to get cod in fleetwood, when i asked why,the chip shop owner told me that the cod has white worms in it and it wont sell there, but they sell it and eat it on the East coast.

even so called `fresh` cod has been kept in a cooler for 4/5 weeks before you buy it.

Beaverbrook does not style all that stable to me nor does any crimson meat product and Beaverbrook supplies me undesirable heartburn and a bad after style that final for hours. In answer to your question. Seeing as ingesting un-sparkling animals isn't stable for you and is in result a sin, Then what that tells me is that Sin is appropriate, and that of direction can not be denied.

I think they sometimes breed the cod in tanks and it doesn't get that salt water taste in it the same.
