I think this is so cool, IF I were to get married again it would be on Halloween also!!! This time of the year there tons on magazines out there with so many different ideas, and you will change you mind a dozen times on what you want to do. Next time you go to a book or food store check out some of the magazines they have, also a party store might give you some ideas, the best to both of you!!!

WOOHOO! There is two of us with that date now! LOL.
We are doing a destination wedding to Vegas and inviting all of our friends/family but are only paying for mom/dad/sister/brother/maid of honour/best man. Im wearing a very simple, ivory gown, off the shoulder with a large black sash. I told my maid of honour to wear what she feels most comfortable in. I know this isn't helpful as far as ideas go, but you can buy magazine's like this months "Good Housekeeping" which has a ton of Halloween ideas. Have you decided on what kind of wedding you want? Themed or classic? I love the fall, and being a Wiccan it made sense to have a Halloween wedding. Good luck, and I'd love it if you stay in touch and we could bounce ideas off each other!

Make the rehearsal dinner into a costume party. Then for the wedding, be beautiful and graceful. (You could do a renaissance gown if you prefer.) Focus on the colors of fall instead of orange and black. Bring some reds, yellows and browns to make the orange work. (One bridesmaid for each color!)
Centerpieces: Instead of using a vase for a flower arrangement, use a pumpkin! http://www.craftbits.com/images/1553_main_pumpkin-centerpiece.jpg
Have a "candy bar" where you give each person a small tulle bag that they can fill up. Have a table full of mini candy bars, starburst, jawbreakers, gum, hershey kisses, nerds, etc. Then the guests can take them home as the favors!

A traditional Celtic/Irish hand-fasting (wedding) since Halloween is the Celtic New Year! Congrats on setting the date. What fun!
Check out this site, you can find a lot of useful information here

and there's more wedding info at this link:

I'm picturing a cool and windy evening with rustling trees, and the wedding in a grove, and nuptials before a crackling bonfire, with all the wedding party cloaked in robes, and and the bride and groom in crushed velvet robes of white.
or you could go with something a little more Marie Antoinette - powdered wigs and decollete, fake beauty mark and everything.
Anyway - good luck.

Here are a few ideas:
Have a candy station set up for guests. Trick or Treat type candies would be great. You can set out mini canvas type bags for guests to trick or treat at the wedding.
Send guests home with a candy apple or carmel apple favor.

black and orange table cloth and napkins, cute treat bags for favors with peanut butter kisses, candy corn in them. luminaries with ghost, witches, and scary cats on them with candles inside.
pumpkin centerpieces, faces cut in them or not.
if you are wanting it to be costumed, you and your groom and bridal party could be the undead, that would be cool. i think that guests would love to come in a costume, how fun!! of course you can say costume optional. google halloween wedding cakes, i have seen a few and they are pretty cool! you can have a best costume contest at the reception. you can also have a couldren with fog on the food table...posibblities are endless!! have fun!!!

Dont do costumes. Most people hate that kind of thing and wont attend or wont wear them anyway. I know I wouldnt go to a costume party and times that by 10 for getting my husband to go dressed up.
My BF got married in Oct and she had a giant balloon spider over her dancefloor it was actually pretty cool.
