Seems to be a good reason to speak in parables. Jesus didn't want some people in Heaven at all.

*Christ's Pupil* has a good answer except for the following paragraph...

God's word teaches that He chose a people to praise Him
& honor Him while they live, in Spirit & in truth, but it is not
as plain where those, not "chosen" to give Him glory, will
spend eternity.

The Bible IS clear; those who are "passed over" for salvation will spend an eternity in hell because of their sins.

Soli Deo Gloria!

No, that is not what he meant. He also said that if one has an ear let him hear. All one has to do is ask the Lord then they will understand. Jesus spoke in parables so that those who did not want to hear would not understand. Such as "Speak to that mountain Move,,,,,, and it shall move." We have had Atheist come into this site asking things like "Should we ask God to forgive us for not making the mountain move by speaking to it?" Speaking to a mountain made as little since to a non believer way back then as it does now. Now that I am saved I know that the mountain is not a real physical mountain but trouble sorrows anything in excess.
There was a song from the 1960's called "A mountain of Love!" They got it!

No you don't know the Bible very well. It is a fulfillment of propchey from the book of ISAIAH. The point is some aren't supposed to understand and some are because not all humans are meant to believe the same way. I can't tell you more but it is important trust me that some do not understand, we would not have a lot of things of this day and age if everyone understood God the same way. Why don't you try understanding Luke 23:40 to 43 this is all you need.

Jesus is reinforcing the truth that only those who want to see will see and only those who want to hear will hear. Among the crowds gathered around Jesus were the Pharisees, Sadducees and teachers of the Law. Their hearts were so hard they could never understand.

So Jesus spoke in parables, which to these people were like fairy tales – nice stories but with no significance. However, anyone with an open heart would get the true meaning immediately.

Jesus’ words are recorded with a little more context in the parallel passage in the Gospel of Matthew:
“This is why I speak to them in parables: ‘Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand.’ In them is fulfilleds the prophecy of Isaiah: ‘You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving. For this people’s heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts, and turn, and I would heal them.’” (Matthew 13:13-15, TNIV)

Those who have rejected Jesus as the person that he claims to be (namely, the Son of God and soon to be Savior of the world), cannot understand what He is saying about Kingdom of God because to understand what the Kingdom of God is all about you must understand the one who IS the Kingdom of God. Those who are seeking to understand who Jesus is will discover exactly what he is saying. If you reject Jesus than His message will be of no value and make no sense to you.

1 Peter 2:8, "And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of
offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being
disobedient:::: WHEREUNTO ALSO THEY WERE
APPOINTED".

2 Tim 2:19-20, "Nevertheless the foundation of God
standeth SURE, having this SEAL, The Lord knoweth
them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the
name of Christ depart from iniquity. But in a GREAT
HOUSE there are not only vessels of gold and of silver,
but also of wood and of earth; and SOME TO HONOUR,
AND SOME TO DISHONOUR".

Romans 9:20-21, "Nay but, O man, who art thou that
repliest against God? SHALL THE THING FORMED
SAY TO HIM THAT FORMED IT, WHY HAST THOU
MADE ME THUS? HATH NOT THE POTTER POWER
OVER THE CLAY, OF THE SAME LUMP TO MAKE
ONE VESSEL UNTO HONOUR, AND ANOTHER
UNTO DISHONOUR?"

John 6:37, Jesus says, "ALL that the Father giveth me
SHALL COME TO ME; and him that cometh to me I
will in no wise cast out".

Yes, God is the one with the power, but in His House are
both vessels to honour and to dishonour; for anyone to
presume where these vessels will spend eternity is
contrary to the Word. God made them what they are.

God's word teaches that He chose a people to praise Him
& honor Him while they live, in Spirit & in truth, but it is not
as plain where those, not "chosen" to give Him glory, will
spend eternity.

The 14th Chapter of Isaiah seems to hold a key to this,
verses 6-12 seems to say this will be when satan is
no longer persecuting God's people. That certainly hasn't
happened yet. I think this is speaking of "spiritual"
Israel, those spoken of in Romans 2:28-29, who are
"Jews" inwardly. Verse 2 says "the house of Israel shall
possess them IN THE LAND OF THE LORD for servants
and handmaids::: and they shall take them captives, whose
captives they were; and they shall RULE OVER THEIR
OPPRESSORS".

Now, this would be hell for the oppressors in this world;
to be made to serve, those whom they have oppressed,
for all eternity. God is a just God, not a cruel one. Just
a thought for those who love to study. I'm not saying that is
what hell will be. Just stimulating study & thought.

John3:13 states that no man has gone to heaven but Jesus. From the beginning till now the earth is for mankind.

That is not the case. Even the apostles did not understand it and asked Jesus to explain. Jesus did this on purpose because He knew that the Pharisees would be too proud to ask Jesus the meaning. Pride is the most hated sin of God.

No. The Apostles were given the Priesthood. They were given instruction in the use of authority and power. Jesus did not throw pearls before swine. He did not disclose sacred things to the scribes and Pharisees.

Then why John 3:16? "God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that WHOSOEVER believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." I believe it could be that the disciples were able to receive the message, but those who He didn't explain it to were not ready. Like a parent, God gives us information about Him and the kingdom as we become mature enough to receive it.
