S Question about wasps?
ok i just want to ask am i the only person who freaks out when a wasp hovers round me? i swear im like a wasp radar, they know to come near me cus i start running around like a headless chicken bumping into people. once a wasp landed on my hand in a bar and i screamed my head off, scaring the **** out of an old couple sitting near by having a quiet lunch. someone please agree with me that this is the most agressive and scariest species in the world

A few weeks ago we went to Sherwood forest to walk the dogs.
In the woods I suddenly noticed my little dog cocking her head on one side & was horrified to see a wasp crawling into her fur.
I started screaming to my partner to help her & get it off.
It then flew up & stung him on the neck & started to chase me.
I ran for my life shaking my head from side to side & screaming that it was buzzing near my ear.
I injured my neck in my violent head shaking & needed urgent treatment.
How embarrassing it was explaining what happened.
1 wasp = 3 casualties!!

Ok, I will agree that wasps are very scary, but not agree they are the most aggressive. I do not like wasps, bees or hornets. I have been stung by a small sweat bee once. Felt like someone ground out a cigarette on my arm. Don't care to have that repeated ever again. Every so often I hear of someone drinking soda or beer outside and accidentally drinking down a bee or wasp because they did not look first between sips. Then they have a problem with their throat swelling shut or an allergic reaction to the venom.

I have been stung several times by wasps and bees, although I would say the bee is the scarier of the two as it leaves it's nice barbed sting with half its bum in you.
I remember being at a party when I was about 4 or 5 years old, There was a wasp buzzing around me and my Mum told me to "keep still and it won't hurt you" the wasp then flew up my party dress and stung me on the bum, so much for keeping still!

No your not on your own girl wasps are the only thing that make me freak out big time or anything that resembles a wasp come to think of it. I have been known to run miles. One sunny day along time ago I was by the sea with my bf at the time and we got an ice cream, I heard a buzz and noticed a wasps and instantly bolted, partly out of sheer horror and partly because I wasn't going to share my ice cream with no wasp! Oh on holiday a few months ago there weres loads of them, we left one under under a glass for the waitress to deal with once we had left and also one afternoon while my bf's sister was floating on her lilo in our pool one landed on her leg and she went mental as it stuck its *** in her leg! I flung round to find her thrashing about in the pool like a demented whale, wasn't very elegant I can tell you. (she's not a whale by the way was the first thing that sprang to mind)

it was about 2 years ago i wa at a friends house in the back by the pool area. we were tring to get a wasp nest off of the house. i said get a can of hair spray and a litter and spray into the flam and burn the wasps. he said no and proceded to swing a broom handle and try to knock the nest down. as he was doing that i moved away about 20 feet cause i knew what was going to happen. sure as shiiit about 20-30 of the wasps gor pissed and started attaking him a started laughing at him and told him to go jump in the pool. so he did.
oh by the way the pool had no water in it except about 1 foot or so in the deep end. and ya they left him alone after that.

I always laugh when people run from wasps. All they can do is give you a little sting. It's hardly that painful! And your more likely to get stung if you start prancing around screaming because then they see you as a potential threat! Honestly, if you just ignore them and don't hurt them, they will leave you alone.
He he.

sorry to say, got only a little tragedy bout bees...
I was a little girl, about 8 or 10 years, lying on the grass, taking a sunbath after swimming when a bee sat on me.
I didn't mind, so did the bee, and everything would have been fine if not my cousin's granny had freaked out - she clapped on the bee, the bee stinging me...
for the next 5 years, I've been near hysteria when a bee came close...

Well, it isn't funny, but I was stung three times at once when I was a kid. It made me very sick. So, I understand completely. My dad was allergic to all those stingers and he would freak out and run all around the yard. Horrible what a small little creature can do to us.
