Loge:

“seems that the uneducated immigrants usually vote towards the liberal (Democrat) party, wonder why that is?”

Heidenlord:

It has to do with a number of factors I believe. The first being socialist democracy. Democracy has been called "two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for dinner" and I think it sums it up nicely.

A "hand-out" system will eventually corrupt even the best work ethic of the most respectable germanics, but for minorities it is a free-for-all. The poor will always outnumber the rich and when the poor are given the same amount of voting power as the rich it is only a matter of time until they vote themselves the national treasury. The framers of the American Constitution understood this and only allowed land-owning males the right to vote because they understood that only those who have a vested interest in the affairs of the government should have a say in government.

The greatest fallacy in the world is to give someone who can't make money, buy land, or lead a normal life a say in government. What makes people believe that individuals who are failures are going to make a wise choice altogether, I will never know. Governments don't run on good intentions but are governed by the same laws of nature that guide everything else here on earth; governments cannot take blood from a stone nor can they create wealth, they really only consume wealth.

When governments start taking orders from those who can't even balance their own checkbook, we know the end is near. All Democracies have ended in a dictatorship because one day the "free lunch" is over and someone has to stand up and say this and be prepared to "bash some heads" when the hangovers start from the democracy/socialism induced free-for-all.

An amnesty is a slap in the face for all the immigrants who took the legal channels to get here. Not to sound like a broken record, but the only thing that it would accomplish is encourage more illegal immigration. After all, if a crime is rewarded, wouldn't it only create more criminals, hoping to reap the same rewards? At that point, the U.S. may as well open its borders to everyone.

There are millions of immigrants who were initially allowed to enter this country and apply for asylum 15 or 20 years ago because of war. Their cases are just barely being heard by immigration. So now, after they have made a life here; have US citizen children, bought a house and PAY their TAXES, are being denied and deported to their countries of origin. That, more than anything is what is tearing families apart. If it were happening to you, you would want some form of relief.

The rest, the "Illegals", that come here to work are, generally, law abiding, tax paying (ask the IRS), hard working people, who would abide by whatever rules you imposed upon them, as long as they were able to travel in safety to and from the United States (work visas).

If you can't ever imagine yourself in someone else's shoes, please, READ YOUR BIBLE!

I am assuming you are talking about the immigration reform that Bush proposed. That was not amnesty, as there were steep fines ($5,000) for each undocumented alien to be able to participate. Also there were pre requisites, an alien would only qualify if they had no felonies and no more than two misdemeanors on their record. Apart from that the alien had to have been here before Jan.1, 2005, so as not to make more people cross the border illegally and try to benefit from this. All in all, the U.S. would have profited billions of dollars, managed to deport all criminal aliens, and we would have known who was in our country. Yeah, who ever would want that must be crazy....

Amnesty is good idea and great, if you're an illegal!!!
But, if you are an American citizen who cares about his/her country, obviously giving amnesty to illegals is not a good idea!!

Because it deals with the reality that 20 million illegal aliens aren't going to be deported. If they're not deported then the only thing worse than amnesty is having 20 million people "off the books", living in the country.

I have no idea! I think it is absurd myself we would be getting a bunch of some other countries criminals over here with a free record. If there are going to do that then they should just give every one here amnesty too. DUH How stupid is that????

Amnesty is a good idea will have criteria that it selects the best ones - who paid taxes, invest here, etc.

It sure would be a good idea for those who committed the crime. Not many of the rest of us would agree.
