There is no reason this would not be appropriate.

I had my 14 year old cousin as one of the bridesmaids in my wedding and she just loved it! She bragged to her friends at school..how great is that?
I don't think there's anything wrong with asking your niece to be your Maid of Honor. It's true, as other people have said, that she won't be able to fulfill all the requirements (like planning the Bachelorette party!). One possible solution would be to have more than one Maid of Honor, or have a Maid of Honor AND Matron of Honor. The older of the two could then pick up the 14 year old's slack.
Choosing your Maid of Honor should really be about following your heart. If you want to ask your niece, then ask her.

It is your day and who is in your wedding party is up to you. If you want your niece to the be Maid of Honor and she can perform the duties then go ahead.
The Maid of Honor sometimes( but by no means all) is the one to plan the bridal shower. She also is responsible for holding on to the ring if the Groom is to get one in a double ring ceremony. She also holds the Bride's bouquet during the ceremony and sometimes is the one to lift the bride's veil although to day mostly it is the Groom that does this. She dances with the Best Man at the start of the reception and sometimes she will make a toast like the Best Man does. 14 is old enough for most of this and someone will certainly help her plan a shower if no one else is doing this for you. If she is who you want, she is who you should pick Congratulations and Best of Luck

I even have seen bridal events the place the maids of honor and the bridesmaids wore diverse dresses. commonly in that difficulty, th ebride tells the attendants what colour it should be (and that all of them come from the comparable keep) and the guy selections the form/variety of gown that fits her physique type. the excellent component to do would be to take a bridesmaid gown with you once you're searching for selection maids of honor dresses. in case you are able to't locate something which you like...or not something seems to bypass, then tell your MOH to handle it b/c maximum bridal events do positioned on the suitable comparable gown...

I know women who have their little daughters be their maids of honor. It's really cute and sweet. A friend of mine's moh was 12, but it was because it was a close sister.
If you are that close to her, then by all means do it! It's your wedding!
As for the witnessing on the m/c, just have a parent or a bridesmaid do it. No big deal.

age and maturity are important. IF you want your niece as your maid of honor.. then stick by your guns. She will feel like a princess in a pretty dress, and you get to have the person you love up there with you. A really great friend of mine had her twin daughters as her maids of honor... and they were 12 at the time, and they said they felt like princesses in their floor length dresses. :) So have a happy wedding day.

It wouldn't be wierd-it's just that she won't be able to fullfill all the responsibilities of the Maid of Honor-so if your other bridesmaids are willing to handle all the planning and things that the Maid of Honor traditionally does, then it should be fine.

A Jr. bridesmaid would be 14 or 15. A Maid of Honour should really be an adult who can sign the document.

Why would a 14-year-old MOH be inappropriate? If you want her as your MOH, go for it! Of course, the only problem is if you want her to plan the whole drunken bash thing for your bachelorette party, but there are plenty of other things you could do that night that would be just as fun. I say pick your neice!
Good luck and congrats!

I have a 15 year old maid of honor. I also have a matron of honor. It is your decision. You should pick who you want in your wedding.
