and now it wont start , i think it might be the head gasket but i would like to besure before i get it fixed

run a block check on the engine first also check your intake manifold ,you may have to re-tighten the bolts or replace the gaskets.If it is the heads get it repaired at a shop that you trust and will back their work. you can remove the spark plugs and see if their is antifreeze in the piston chambers if their is that will tell you that you have a cracked head. I bet you will find coolant in them when you do.Check the prices on if its cheaper to repair the van or trade it off.

Anytime one sees coolant exiting the exhaust it's bad. Most likely the engine has overheated recently and has either cracked the head or a blown head gasket. Either requires extensive repair. Seek professional assistance.

sounds like a head gasket to me... but what do i know only been in the car business for 25 years.

because its a dodge caravan and they s**k. trade it in and get anything else but another dodge caravan.
