Well I think that some of these "Stone Age" tribes are just following the way of life that is more simplified and need not to be changed. Kind of like that old saying "why fix it if it's not broken". I'd just like to think that these tribes feel that accepting modern ways is like sh*!ing on their roots and tradition. Look at how people live today. There is so much animosity,
possessions, hate, fear in this modern day world for us. Things like that puts a shroud and manipulates the way of life. I think ancient tribes know this. So they will continue to live without having those idea affect them. As far as religious beliefs go, I personally am not a strong believer, but I do notice that nearly every religious group there are certain consistancies of these does and don'ts. And modernization effects the credibility of a religion.

I guess you could technically label the recently discovered tribe in the Upper Amazon ( it's in this weeks news) as a Stone Age society. However, they haven't been contacted yet by outsiders (only seem by people flying over in helicopters.) They may not even use stone tools, since it is possible to do without these and use wood instead.
The fear is that because they have not previously had contact with outsiders, they are prone to succumbing to introduced diseases to which they have no previous exposure to and therefore no immunity.
It is difficult to guess what their religious beliefs are, or even if they have any such thing.
Are they aware that outsiders exist? Probably. They certainly would have seen airplanes and now helicopters in the recent past since there is a lot of mineral and forestry exploitation starting up in that area. They may also have occasional contact with other tribes which have had contact with outsiders. Which may explain why they run and hide when the helicopters fly by....
It would be like one of us seeing a real alien space craft.

I think there are 2 sides to this issue. Good that they are able to freely live their religious beliefs and live how they wish-some are NOT dumb-they know that civilization is not perfect and they do not care to live our rat race. However, just because their beliefs are ancient that does not make them True. Who is to say what is True. We must all realize that all we have is EACH OTHER. I hope someday we can all just get along.

There are still stone age tribes because (believe it or not) there are still places that are so remote that there is no tv, modern transportation or other modern means of communication. These places are so remote that they are not tourist destinations, or on a trade route or even on the map.
As far as the religion part, I've often wondered that myself. Should be interesting to see what kinds of answers you get.

I think that Stone Age tribes in the year 2007 fail to understand that religion is the origin of science.
For instance, man used to question how the wind blew, the answer was "God did it," now we know.

when you look at the history of technological advance over the last couple millenia, you'll find that if it wasn't for a few happy accidents, we'd still be in the stone age ourself. As for their religions, it's still superstition, but at least it's more in balance with the natural world.

because they are so remote and no one has forced them to change. there would be a lot more ancient beliefs still practiced today if missionaries hadn't forced them to act like Christians. as to whether they are true or not, that's a personal opinion.

Where are these people?? Why do you think being ancient has anything at all to do with truth? It was once an ancient belief to burn people at the stake.

There are people who still use "stone age" technology, because they have had no contact with other societies and because their technology has been sufficient to supply their needs.
Since their technology is ancient, is it the best?
