with young people?

As the nation’s culture changes in diverse ways, one of the most significant shifts is the declining reputation of Christianity, especially among young Americans. A new study by The Barna Group conducted among 16- to 29-year-olds shows that a new generation is more skeptical of and resistant to Christianity than were people of the same age just a decade ago.

Yes, we have been watching this for so many years. So many reasons for it. Few children are taught the full and true knowledge of Gods word any longer, and few see it put to action in the home. Then since ppl left the origianl word of God that was handed down from God, it has been one denomination after another, and then to interdenominational and non denominational since then, each with its own view of truth, made by man. Then we see how the eastern religions and philosophy , plus science that is false, has come into our religions and brought so many of their teachings, and there is little truth left anymore. Some have no truth, and some have some truth with a lot of error. Its not about church titles, its about following what God says in His word. WE need to get study helps that show us the orginal meaning of the greek Biblical words and Hebrew, so that we can interpret the Bible correctly, stay in a lot of prayer and Bible study, meditating upon the word, and raise our children knowing these things and seeing them lived out in their own homes. Some still do that, but so few. So as children grow up in society today, there are no absolutes, few morals or ethics, except with follwers of Jesus, which many kids never even get to meet. They get to meet many wearing that so called Christian label, but dont see any evidence of it truly being there. We have an obligation to live out the word of God if we claim to believe it. First off , God says to love and obey Him. Its a command, not just a suggestion.. and we are told to be like Jesus, have His character, think like He thinks, act like He acts, etc etc. How many do you see doing this today??? Yes, there are some, but sure smaller in purportion than the rest of the world. Until we can act like Jesus and be like Him, we really have nothing to offer to anyone. LOOK WHAT JESUS HASNT DONE FOR ME YET< HE CAN DO THE SAME FOR YOU.... God forbid, but thats what the majority of ppl see today, including YOUNG PPL.
Jesus is coming soon, and we really have let down our youth by being so rebellious ourself against the things God has told us and shown us. All we can do now is to live Gods truths, speak them, boldly, humbly, without fear or compromise and to continue to pray over Gods word, to meditate upon it, and try to reach the ones we come in contact with. Show them the love of God, the mercy of God, and true meaning of grace. Grace will cover sin, of course and without it, we have no chance at salvation. Its only because of Jesus death and the grace of God that anyone can be saved. BUt, grace doesnt cover willfull deliberate, rebellious continued deliberate sin. Read 1 John 3:9 those born of GOd cannot sin. ITs becuase ewe have Jesus in us and sin will be as vile to us as it is to HIM.
Lets love them back in Christians. Love them in by being in unity of Gods love and His perfect truths that He gives us in His word and in divine revelation.
Nothing is impossible with God. ITs time, restoration, renwal and revival. These are the last days and we dont have long to bring them the true gospel of Jesus. LOVE AND OBEY because we love Him........

Great question.. I pray many will think about what all is said here, thats of GOD..

Take Christianity. It could be because fewer and fewer people read the Bible and rely instead on what someone tells them what they should believe or because they choose to rely upon their own experience apart from God's Word.

Basing decisions on what the World teaches leads to problems, Proverbs 16:25, and there are plenty of false teachers. 2 Peter 2:1. Jesus chastised the Jewish leaders for not understanding the Scriptures or God's power. Matthew 22:29. Instead, it is best to study the Word. 2 Timothy 2:15; Romans 15:4.

I was once in a Bible study in which people from various denominations participated. We were asked to read only the Bible and to not study commentaries. This required that I re-read a lot of passages. When we came together for discussion, it was remarkable how often everyone came to the same conclusions.

Sometimes we arrive at our understanding of the Bible in much the same way as those who play the game of "Gossip." That's the one where a group of people sit in a circle and one begins by whispering a statement about something in the ear of the person next to them and they do the same until it comes round to the originator. Most of the time, it is amazing how garbled the statement has become.

Could it be that most people form their beliefs about the Bible that way - instead of reading it, they prefer to rely on others to tell them about it? If it is important to know what the Bible says, then that is the wrong way to learn. Don't rely on hearsay - see for yourself.

No I don't agree with that. I am finding that people who are not moving on with their walk with the Lord are attending church less and if they don't want a better walk with the Lord then they need to get out of the way. I enjoy yahoo answers because this has put me in touch with some awesome young people who have a burning desire to know God and follow His ways. I think there are also a lot of "atheists" who are waiting and watching for the truth of Christianity to come to the surface and blow the religious nonsense out of the water!
I personally am tired of phony church baloney and I want to walk in the fullness of God's power and His Spirit! How about you!

My answer to this is what I call, "The Elijah Factor." Elijah thought he was the only one left because of the increase of paganism and other forms of idolatry after the slaughter of the prophets of Baal. When he found a quiet place with God he was told there are seven thousand who have not bowed the knee to Baal.

God will always have a people who are faithful, though it is sad to see those who do fall away, God knows those who are His.

God is at work to preserve His people, never to be plucked from His hand. The enemy is also at work to deceive as many as possible in the days ahead.

And He gave some apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists ; and some, pastors and teachers : for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ : TILL WE ALL COME IN THE UNITY OF THE FAITH, and of the KNOWLEDGE of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.

Without the body of Christ adhering to this Word, how can the world do anything else ????

Religious declension is a sign of the last days!

The Bible declares that before the coming of the Lord there will exist a state of religious declension similar to that in the first centuries. 2 Timothy 3:1-5; 1 Timothy 4:1; 2 Thessalonians 2:9-11.

When this state of ungodliness shall be reached, the same results will follow as in the first centuries. It was religious declension that led the church in the first centuries to seek the aid of the civil government, and this prepared the way for the development of the papacy. 2 Thess.2:3. So religious declension in the church today will prepare the way for the United States to make an image to the papacy.

"The wide diversity of belief in the Protestant churches is regarded by many as decisive proof that no effort to secure a forced unity can ever be made. But there has been for years, in churches of the Protestant faith, a strong and growing sentiment in favor of a union based upon common points of doctrine. To secure such a union, the discussion of subjects upon which all were not agreed--however important they might be from a Bible standpoint--must necessarily be waived.

When the leading churches of the United States, uniting upon such points of doctrine as are held by them in common, shall influence the state to enforce their decrees and to sustain their institutions, then Protestant America will have formed an image of the Roman hierarchy, and the infliction of civil penalties upon dissenters will inevitably result.

When the early church became corrupted by departing from the simplicity of the gospel and accepting heathen rites and customs, she lost the Spirit and power of God; and in order to control the consciences of the people, she sought the support of the secular power. The result was the papacy, a church that controlled the power of the state and employed it to further her own ends, especially for the punishment of 'heresy...'

In order for the United States to form an image to the papacy, the religious power must so control the civil government that the authority of the state will also be employed by the church to accomplish her own ends. Whenever the church has obtained secular power, she has employed it to punish dissent from her doctrines. Protestant churches are following in the steps of papal Rome and manifest a desire to restrict liberty of conscience."

This, to be sure, is the warning found in the book of Revelation for these last days, chapter 13 in particular.

There has never been so many discussions about the role of church and state as in the last few years since George Bush has been elected. Prophecy is being fulfilled right before our eyes! The United States in Revelation 13 are represented by a Lamb with two horns (the two horns: Protestantism and Republicanism) but this gentle lamb is about to speak like a "dragon" by restricting liberty of conscience, of the press and of speech. Persecution is about to raise its ugly head as in the Middle Ages when the papacy ruled supreme! And to make matters worse the same chapter 13 of Revelation warns us that the United States will prepare the way for the papacy to regain her supremacy in the world to bring all nations at the feet of the Pope! The temporal power of the papacy will be restored. The "deadly wound" will be healed. The papay received her deadly wound in 1798 when General Berthier under Napoleon entered Rome and took the Pope into captivity. It was then that she lost her temporal power but chapter 13 of Revelation tells us that her deadly wound will be healed before the return of Jesus in glory.

The Jesuits have infiltrated all levels of government as well as the churches. Their goal is to bring all churches and all governments at the feet of the Pope! They will not rest until this is achieved. Prophecy tells us that they will succeed and all great and small will be forced to pay her homage but the true people of God will refuse and this is what will bring the buy and sell decree against them and finally the death decree! See Rev.13. Chapter 17 foretells the destruction of this evil scheme by the churches. When the people finally realized that they have been deceived, they will turn upon these religious leaders and tear them apart.

Keep your eyes peeled! It won't be long before we see these things unravel before our very eyes and all the other countries in the world will follow the example of the United States. This is what chapter 13 of Revelation says. All nations will pay homage to the papacy and her image except the true and faithful people of God!

Many churches cooperate in "Respect for Life Month" in October. Whatever your theology, let's work together to bring peace and goodwill.

I offer these verses in honour of "Respect Life Month" in October, without trying to argue with any one about killing the innocents.....

Psalm 127: 3 Children are a gift from the LORD; they are a reward from him.

Deuteronomy 32: 39 "I myself am he! There is no god other than me! I am the one who gives life"

Jeremiah 1:5 "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you..."

1 John 4:16: "God is love". Live in His all-knowing Lordship.

Romans 8: 29-30 “For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.“

God said it. I believe it. That settles it.
If you must argue, argue with God!

Psalm 90:12 - "Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom."
