I am only familiar with the TSH test. Its for your thyroid. 1.54 seems a little low. I don't know about FT4 test. As far as meds, if your Dr, is not prescribing any, good for you. Almost all meds have some sort of side effect. I hate synthetic thyroid. It makes it really hard to lose weight.

Your TSH sounds pretty good but your FT4 is a little low. Usually, FT4 ranges from 0.8-1.8. If you have symptoms of hypothyroidism (fatigue, dry skin, poor memory and concentration, inability to lose weight, etc.) then you should start taking some meds like synthroid.

You posted your question in the cancer section. If you have/had thyroid cancer, you should have/had surgery to remove your thyroid gland. You should also be taking a larger dose of meds to suppress your TSH as close to zero as possible.

Anyway, if you have not had cancer, and you feel fine...then no need for meds.
